This is a jet ski site. It would sure be kinda sad if some person not of the white race was looking into being part of the sport and was turned off while browsing this site and couldnt get his/her questions answered or feel welcome.

Im not gonna lie I have had my racist thoughts and moments growing up in a largly hispanic area, and also working in NYC. I have seen the bad statistics first hand. But Im still open minded due to I have met quite a few cool guys and girls that werent white or white washed.

First question:YES (most of the time). 2nd question: NO (but it is ignorant. I tell the black kids I teach that if their grandma wouldn't like it, don't say it in my class, and give a short one minute speech about the history of the word and why it is offensive to their grandparents).

HOWEVER, If you are using that word with your good black friends that don't care and are joking around, then it is fine. I am guessing from your post, this is NOT the case and a group of your good black friends are not on this site.

Thank you for this post Jett it has been needed for a while. Unfortunately the ones it is meant for wont get it or understand. I stopped posting a while ago for 2 reasons. 1. I dont ride as much anymore and 2. the issue this thread is addressing.

I didn't either, growing up in a suburban white neighborhood. I now teach in the inner city and have lots of them in coleagues and students. They are some of the most fun people you will ever be around.
