Rag Tag Freeriders B-Team End of the Season

Beginning of this season all of us could hardly do nose stabs, we would do a barrel roll once or twice a ride if we could even do so. The other riders of the crew then named us the "B-Team." Well we improved... A LOT. This is an edit of our last half dozen rides. Yes we got blessed with pretty good surf most of the summer but the one thing that proved our most progression is "tray time." The three of us rode a minimum of twice a week and when the waves came in, everyday we could; as much as a week straight. We have to thank the "A-Team" for all the support throughout the summer, from parts to riding techniques and everything between. Here's a video put together by my brother showing how much we've improved. Oh yea were all running little 701s and no trim!

Dude you guys have progressed bigtime!

That video was great. Can't wait to throw down as a whole crew in daytona. Hopefully we get good waves so we can do all that stuff above^^^^^^.

Now if only you guys could keep your boats running more than one ride per time without wrenching. Lol.

Hopefully next season I'll have more free time to ride more. This season was a bit of a bummer for me.

Nice vid.

If you guys are breaking stuff and wrenching as normal. What are seeing fail or wear out?
I seem to destroy tanks every other ride. New straps and tank still comes loose stabbing itself on a strap hook. Small issues.

Battery trays, motors, sunk skis, cracked hulls, cracked hoods, bent bars/steering on fixed steers, broken noses from drilling bottom, broken ride plates. They have killed it all.

That's what happens riding hard in big surf close to the beach.

Shallows take their toll on noobs like me. I over rotated once on a flat deck and tombstoned it good. Trim ring ended up so far back along the nozzle i needed a crowbar to pry it off then it snapped anyway. User error.

Lol I went through two hulls, at least half dozen battery trays, sunk a lot like a real lot, bent the bars on my pole ski from landing flat, gas cap in my internal fill, battery, cables and everything else you could think of

Wow. Austin this came out amazing. I've watched it 5 times already. Continuing on with what tom said its not only "tray time" that will get you there but most importantly good riding buddies and friends that are there to help. Going out and seeing James @eastcoastjumper doing his first roll after riding only a handful of times and then doing a roll off every wave after that gives you the confidence to do it your self. The 3 of us seem to be very competitive we see one person do we have to do it. Going out 2-3 times a week and having fun and doing what we can. Big thanks goes out to the A-team @BruceSki and @ryan without them I don't think I could even do s nose stab and my ski would be on the sea floor.

@700Pirate Start gluing hydro turf to your tank in rub spots. By the pipe, by the battery tray, by the sharp tank strap pieces... glue the rubber insulation under the tank down. Use the turf to pad out straps so you don't have to tie knots, because it breaks the rubber at the knot on old straps.

List of things I broke this season:
I broke 3 stock battery trays and a rad dudes aluminum one while learning rolls and flips. i broke all the tig welds on the corners of the old style rad dudes tray. I turfed my battery so it sits in my modified rad dude tray super snug and padded the top of the battery with a few layers of turf.

I reglued and replaced turf in many spots. Superglue works awesome for small repairs and seams.

I broke a few battery cables. I had @OCD Solutions battery cables that the previous owner of my hull purchased. They probably lasted 3-4 years in my surf only boat. The inner wire strands got all funky and had built up a lot of resistance. Also broke off one end. Now running stock cables again from bruce but ill probably buy another set of ocd cables in the near future.

I replaced a worn out prop and i'm almost ready to refinish my 2nd worn down hooker for this season. Riding in the sandy water right near the shore wears them down FAST!! Also wears your hull corners down!

I replaced a set of pro-x pistons for preventative maintenance. wrist pin bearings and crank seals, 2 carb shafts/plates, a starter, a solenoid, steering cable, a nozzle or 2, a wamiltons rideplate i broke. A set of ODI VANS grips I wore out to the plastics then i flipped them and wore them some more. lmao. I broke a few couch motor mounts. I broke a UMI steering setup on my Tom21 hood. so i bought another...lol

I cracked my x scream reinforced superjet hul in multiple spots from stress of flips and rolls. Nose is still in one piece @BruceSki I cracked and repaired my Tom21 hood in a few spots.

Changed to a mag pump from stock, Changed my throttle lever to a new tbm from the old style blowsion i had. Put a wetjet manifold and carb on my 61x. Its super dialed in and runs mean. WOT for as long as i want. Enough power down low thanks to @JetManiac / @Blue cylinders.

I went through 9 gallons of oil at 44:1. Just about 400 gallons of gas so far.. still riding! forget about the truck and my 100 mile round trips I take every time I go ride.

Right now my ski is dialed in and ready for some more beating. It hardly ever breaks on its own. Its just my riding abuse that is taking the parts out. and some normal wear and tear haha!!

I only work on my own poop and I didn't miss a ride this year. Only rode dads stock superjet once while waiting for parts.

R&R ok but I got to admit the vid in this thread is pretty hard to beat. Its raw and it flows good. Flip at 1:32 gives me chills.
