Hmmm where to start with this. Pete has done an excellent job with the rager and I would hate to see it not happen. The biggest thing that needs to be done is organizing it with seaside officials. Typically, stuff that happens at the rager isnt allowed to go on at that area, but Pete has contacted the right people in the past the get it done. That is the main part of making the rager a success. The hotel discounts are simple enough to do.

Pete has also taken the Rager to a new lvl by providing free beer and food at Captain Hooks bar. One of the coolest things about the after party. Although, this is not a necesity. People will still hang out and drink and the bar even if there is not free food and alcohol. It is alot of money to make that happen and I for one dont have the money to make that happen like it has in the past.

If we got a donation thing set up where people could pitch in and help make it happen, I would have no problem helping to get things organized here. I'll let you all know now, its gonna be around 700 bucks to get things to happen like they have in the past, which I personally think is too much for the organizers to put forward.

Another thing that would be nice is to move the date a little earlier when the weather is nicer and more people are around. Its held in a major tourist area, so pulling something like that off would be much more difficult, but the nicer weather would be worth it imo. Having it when the boardwalk is open would be nice for the people coming from a distance too.

Wonderful Post Ron and some REALLY good suggestions for Rager or any upcoming freeride!...... Paul and I have so much in our lap right now with my business and his shop that we had to call our group together (noone can handle these alone anymore - they are getting too big!!!) and discuss assigning certain details to each person...... Ronny, Ally, Chris, Rhonda, Tiny, Marc, Paul and I are equally putting this ride together not to mention all the help of some many others on that actual Saturday...... Stoyer, Harrison, Adrian, Nick, and so many others.

My point is that these rides are getting so big it is almost impossible to organize it all on your own...... It works better if done as a team effort..... Both for financial reasons, coming up with different ideas and the work it takes to pull it all off!!!!!:Banane01: :Banane01: :Banane01:

Awesome.... Super cool, and thank you for all your help with all the freerides...

I am going to ask that Mark be allowed to post and do this...
He is willing to put in the time and money, and is ready to help !
He wants to do a good job ! and make good for all at the X !
Can admins let him join the boards.

so whats the answer?

I am sorry. I wanted to Dump it on Mark, because he seemed the most intrested in putting the time in... I dont know what will happen nor really care... Sorry, I dont have the time or money, to sink in the sport anymore. I will ride and help any person that wants to ride. but that is it.
Back to riding... that is all I want to do....
As for sponsors, I will address them all, I am not jumping ship.... I love all my sponsors as they have become some of my best friends....
I just really cant do alot of this anymore. Between injuries, and money, I would like to ride for fun.. I am sorry if I let anyone down.

If someone else is going to put the time in.... go for it... I dont care.
I know alot of people talk the talk, but dont walk the walk when it comes down to it...

Maybe I should of approached this better, then again, I did not want to waste to much more time....
Personally I dont know what is better, letting it die or move, or let full thr. do it.

I dont know ! Sorry ! If someone else wants it... Go for it...

I know that Mark would do a great job at organizing this. He really wants to be accepted by all of you. I have seen and been amazed at how much he has done as 24/7. I think that a lot of the guys up here in Jersey have also stopped by there and are also impressed with his work. If he puts forth the same effort, it will be great for everyone. We really should welcome his efforts, especially if he is willing to keep the Northeast on the freeride map. Pete, I'll also do what I can to help.

I think through all the guys im sure this event can live on..for us in new jersey who cant travel alot, the RAGER is the best, it was my first freeride i ever went to this past year and even though both my skis broke, it was a blast jsut to hang out there and watch everyone and It Shall live on i think:woot:

Even though im movie to florida in the fall, i Will come back to attend if we can live it on whether its a date to just ride or an organized event:arms: :arms:

All we need is a date and we will show:biggthumpup:

i offered to help and had someone that was willing to run it but i guess not being there the last two years disqualifies me from running oh well...... i'll be riding either way

Is there any interest in having the Rager moved? What if we had the Rager on Flatwater... say around the Philadelphia region? There seems to be a good number of people around the area that could put forth some effort to make it happen.

Thoughts?

A lot of other freerides aren't in the surf though? Just a suggestion.

Here's my offer.... If people are interested in having it around the Philadelphia/New Jersey area (Delaware River or local lake), I will head it up. With my work schedule and traveling so much, I can not devote a ton of time if it's held in Seaside.

Let me know.

i wouldn't ride in the unless it was way up north on the river or further south like in the bay almost. the other thing you have to look at is that alot of the lakes in the area may not be ski friendly. i have one that is basically in my backyard and only allows bass boats to use their electric trolling motors. the other lake down the street is a friendly lake just so long as your are a resident of the township.

keeping it in the surf is where it should be. now at what surf it should be at is up for debate..... corson's inlet could get interesting that time of year, or any of the other breaks in the area

The 1st Jersey rager was the 1st freeride I went to. Paul through one hell of a party and everybody rode. I met caker, steve802, Johnny hagest, etc. It was small but everyone had a great time.
Caker was the captain of the Rager the last 2 years and took it to a whole new level. Quads for transport ,bars, beers, free swag, the whole 9. I think it is his boat and he should do with it whatever he wants with it.
The Rager will live on but it should stay a surf event.

Why do you roll your eyes? I offered since no one wants to step up to the plate from X. You guys can decide and do what you want. Everyone will complain and complain but no one wants to do anything about it. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

just at riding in the delaware river... i wouldn't ride around the city at all... up north toward trenton yes but no where near philly.

like i said before i offered to do something about it but i guess not being there the last two years makes me unqualified to do it.

at this point let someone else run it if that is the attitude that is going to be conveyed to me for trying to help this sport. (not directed towards you doug, someone else and the whole thing in general)

ANT

Just ride
too close to the ocean for it to be in the river. if we rode in that water near phily someone might come out with a third ear or a second head, those three eyed fish swim around there lol. maybe someone is taking responsability.
