Randomly running rich?

Yesterday. Ski just ran super rich when I grabbed more than half throttle. And it would take quite a few short high speed runs to clear it out, only to have it load up again. Popped the hood off, adjusted the high speeds 1/2 turn in , ran great. Then i put it back to normal just to confirm. Cool, ran like poop so the screws were my issue right? Turned them in again, ran slightly better but still like crap and loaded up more than usual in no wake zones and still loaded up above half throttle and was a pain to get cleared out. What the heck!!! Not screw related, just a coincidence the issue went away?!? Eventually I could get it to run snappy but once I would make a setup wake or slow down to hit a boat wake it loaded up.
The day before it did not do this. This is brand new. I pulled the plugs even after I had the high speeds 1/2 turn in more than normal. Rear plug was wet, piston was dryish though. Front plug, wet too. But piston was soaked with fuel....

How are you going to ask for advise then tell people that cant be it...

soak the carbs in chem dip, check compression, and check your pop off.
I never said it couldn't be, I just like to ask questions and get some insight before I start tearing things apart

Second on the exhaust leak. Not saying its your issue, but my ski has acted that way when the exhaust begins to leak.
I just double checked all hose clamps but I'll run with hood cracked just to check for sure.
Ck your carb linkages and make sure set screws didnt slip and carbs are still synked?
I haven't checked that! I have the Oem 760 dual 44 linkage, isn't there the one screw between the carbs?

Finally had some time to work on it.

Things I've checked with no issues:
-No water in fuel
-compression
-carb syncing
-looking for fuel dribbling when idling
-carbs look clean internally, all diaphragms in good shape

Things I've found wrong:
While checking popoff(is set around 40 for reference) the PTO side starts leaking around 20 psi. I can pump it up to 40 but the second I stop pumping it drops down to 20 pretty quick.

Good call @Big Kahuna
