SX/SXi/SXi Pro Raped 750sx

I'm new to the forum and new to stand ups.. But this site is awesome! I'm trying to get in this sport dirt cheap so I bought what I thought was a good $200 dollar deal ( I got excited and didn't look deep). Some jack wagon removed the intake grate and intake guide, then made a bunch of caulk and bondo repairs. I may have to cut the tray to repair the intake area and refoam. I have more time than money. Do you guys think this hull is worth putting any time into? I see you guys cut these things up pretty far for repairs. or does anyone have a spare hull close to northern Indiana.

Buy good materials and take your time, read up on how to do it correctly, and you'll be fine.
Was it a runner?

Y she ran after a good carb cleaning. He said it had a fresh piston job, but when I removed the exhaust manifold they looked used to me.. Still had 143/145psi,not real sure what a stock one should have.. Everything else seams stock so I don't think it has a shaved head..

The damage doesn't look too bad. Just cut all the old :):):):) out. Pull the tank and motor if you haven't already and lay a couple layers of glass on both sides. 12 oz biax from uscomposites.com and some epoxy resin should do it for you. The intake might get a little tricky but I would glass the outside and then glue in a T nut for your intake grate so you don't need to open the tray unless your planning footholds.

Then sell it and buy a superjet

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMHBldw34QQ - here is one way, but Fusor isn't cheap. I like the basic premise for educational purposes though. Just mix up epoxy resin and cabosil to make a product similar in consistency and go for it. Make sure you are covered up when grinding, that stuff itches like crazy.

Well wv is a far scoot for me, but thanks for the offer. looks like if I don't find a hull by Saturday I'm going to tear into this thing.. I did strip the engine, electronics ,and pump. thanks for all the advise.. I feel a lot more comfortable now.. I mostly work with metal so im sure ill have a lot more questions..

you cant get a running 750 down south for under $1000 so if you are in 200 and have to do a lil body repair you are ahead of the game. you can usualy pick up a hull for under
$500 but if you say you where raped over a 200$ 750 you prolly wont spend money on a hull. just patch it and ride the crap out of it and if you want to go bigger next season sell it and buy something else. cant loose money on this one unless you spend over $800 on repairs.

lol! I didn't mean I got raped.. I was saying someone had there way with this old girl. I'm sure I could profit off parting it out. There in a moped thumb throttle, half ***ed shorted pole (could have been broke at the bottom), missing bolts, pitted prop, no choke cable, no reserve switch, b/s start stop switches(maybe from a motorhome) I'm just not up to par on the structure of these things. My brother found another place close to get epoxy resin. He is going to pick quart and the hardener, ect tomorrow. I will post what it is and see if it meets standard. I just want it to hold out water for a year. Bye no means am I going to hit a 10ft wake even if I could find one around here. I just always wanted a stand up. My bro and his wife have 1200 yamapuppy xl 3 Squatters. They are fun for about 20mins. So I told him I don't sit to pee no way I'm not buying a sitdown. So the cheap *** I am, this is what I end up with.

Sounds great! let me know if ya got one and how much. I've got some water proof heatshrink and some weather connectors. So no worries if the wires are cut. And I'll see what epoxy my brother picked up. If it seams sketchy that west marine is only about an hour and a half away from me. Thanks again

I order 1/2 gallon medium epoxy resin from u.s. composites. I was going to do 3 layers of 8oz cloth and 1 layer down the center of the hull. So 4 layers in damage areas. Does this sound strong enough?
