650/X-2 rattle from drive shaft ?

I recently rebuilt the pump bearings on my X2. Old Skat 47V impeller looks good. I don't see rubbing on housing. The tail end of drive shaft that has splines fits into impeller has some play. Could this be where my rattle is coming from? I don't have a rubber seal around shaft and impeller but doubt that would help but only to hold some grease on splines. I tried packing grease into cavity to grease spines but no luck. This sound is out of water. Should I be worried?

all kawi setups rattle like that because there is play between the shaft splines and prop snout splines. in all my years I've never seen a kawi shaft or prop strip out so I wouldn't worry about it. I did see a 550sx skat prop that was as warn as it could have been but still worked.

Good to know, Yes my search found several responses saying same thing. Thanks. My old HX rattled to. My Yamaha B1's are super quite. Difference between supporting drive shaft with bearings vs. a floating shaft on splines.

It’s an impros hooker prop cut back for the 650sx pump (currently installed) stainless driveshaft with the bearings, impros prop tool, 650sx working starter and kawi drive coupler pair with rubber inserts. 650sx start/stop handpole switch, ebox, and 650sx stock handpole (fiberglass part only). Make me a fair price on any part / parts and I won’t turn it down. No need to have stuff horded away that someone else could be using. There might be some other various kawi parts in the box I haven’t looked at it’s contents in over a year. I can drag it out and cut it open if you’re interested in any / all of it.
Another local guy has lots of parts too, if your needing something in particular. @hornedogg79

I wouldn’t even know what a fair price is or even what those parts mean. For the pump i was looking to spend maybe a $100 for a pump with impeller.
That just might be out of my league plus i live in West palm Florida.

I’ll send you the pump, prop and spline prop tool for 100 plus shipping sound good? I noticed that my ski ran much better with this prop I’m sure you have researched it already though. I’m in TN and assume shipping will be around 40$. PM me your address and I’ll get a real price from UPS Store.
