My favorite pair was a pair of old slippery wetsuit gloves. They were neoprene and fit awesome.

However, I buy clearance MX gloves for about $15 a pair and they have worked great. Buy them tight. They stretch in the water. You should feel resistance when you sqeeze your hand. You might thinnk you are going to get very bad throttle pump, but they will loosen up a lot when wet. I buy them tight and they have been working great. If you have money to blow, you can buy something better, but I still need lots of parts for my SJ, and these fit well and last a long time. The rubber falls off the knuckels and stuff but that doesn't matter.

I picked up a pair of HO Tail 41's over 3 years ago. The gloves are still fine but after letting a few friends wear them, they've gotten a little stretched and don't help me as much as they used to so they became everyone else's gloves in my boat when we ski and wakeboard. I used the sh*t out of those gloves!! Kevlar and Amara leather gloves from now on! I know I have a review of those gloves on here somewhere. If the ski companies start charging over $100 for a pair of gloves, I will still pay it just because they are that awesome. My only complaint with the 41 Tails was the palm strap. It's a double back design and if you take a hard fall, the velcro comes off and it's impossible to put it back in without stopping. The wrist strap is fine but most ski gloves have either a single strap that you can hammer back down or a secondary strap to the keep the palm strap in place.

When I demoted my 41 Tails, I decided on the new Radar Boa's (over your price limit). They have the kevlar and amara leather but the unique part is the straps or lack of them. They have the typical wrist strap but the palm cinching system is nylon coated stainless steel cable laced like a shoelace and ratcheted down with a quick twist of a dial. This means no chance of the gloves loosening up and your entire hand from knuckles to wrist is tight.

Just read this lmao! Been a while, but those Boa's look awesome! Ordering some for this next season for sure. Thanks for sharing those.

I have some scar tissue on my left hand and I have been losing chunks of skin right where my wedsing band is after long rides. I figure a decent pair of gloves will do the trick and prevent or reduce the problem. What are some good ones? I have around a $50 budget and don't want to go over that unless they're truly worth the cost.

What grips do you have? I used to get really bad blisters didn't matter what gloves I had but ODI Rouges have helped way more then any glove I have ever owned

I wound up buying pair of Fox Dem Bones because I thought they looked cool. 3 good rides in and I'm very happy with them. They kept my hands comfortable yesterday in 61 degree water. Not that cold by any stretch, but cool enough. My hands were fine and I feel like I will be fine wearing them until the water hits the mid-40's. I'm kind of surprised but I would have to say that from what little I have seen.
