Also consider what water conditions you'll be riding regularly. Smooth inland vs the Great Lakes or ocean can help determine which hull is best for you. I ride Lake Erie mostly standup but appreciate the FX hull on my couch whenever riding that, mostly to tow skiers and tubers. Yamaha 100% imo.

^^ those are Kawi in case you didn't know
..the op, not you Q, I know you know
:)

The older late 90's Kawi ZXi 1100 from what I remember were a pretty good ski too but anything 2-stroke and especially triples will guzzle fuel.

What you mean is........."When you see a standup on the lake please come in slow trimmed bow high and make some decent wake for us to jump!"
I told a neighbor I’m getting a stand up jetski

He said they had one on the lake once and he caused a ruckus. Too loud and blah blah he made the lake more dangerous

I think my small lake is gonna hate me for my standup more than anything else

Edit: same dude has this like modern day Yamaha that sounds like a licoriceing formula car and thinks I’m gonna be an issue

They won’t let me store my ski at the association beach / launch ramp. Im gonna put in a dock and send it.

My direct neighbor to the left eats gluten free and has like 3 teslas, I was rebuilding my cr250 and she came over asking about emissions

Small lake also. I think that I have a love - hate relationship with my neighbors. Been here for 25 years so kind of grandfathered in. Good thing that I am so loveable - NOT. I do pick and choose which watercraft I ride and when though.

See I don’t wanna piss anyone off but it’s a licoriceing association and I pay $400 a month just to be here for their fee. I am not grandfathered in at all

When next summer hits I’ll test the water literally and see how many people in the condo association want to kill me

Edit: im right near the ct river inlet so I can always ride there in the salt but I honestly want to be a fresh water guy and not deal with salt or trailering a ski around

Neighbor with boat.........you totally missed your chance to make a polite and hugely sarcastic remark such as: "Wow, I didn't know anything out here could be more obnoxiously loud than your boat."

Neighbor with Teslas........"Emissions from this tiny engine??? Nowhere near the environmental damage of the things you have. You know the raw materials just in your batteries often come from an open pit strip mining site right? Not to mention the pollutants that the factory bellows out while producing those batteries."

You have to be prepared to respond to stupid with pure sarcasm. It's a learned art that requires some practice.

Last time my wife and I took the stand ups out where we ride, there was a group of retireees in kayaks. After they loaded up they stood around watching. I happen to need a screwdriver for a carb adjustment. And they had a lot of questions about "How old are those?" "Are they hard to ride?" "It looks like it would require a lot of balance just to even stand up on!".....and so on. Real nice folks and they got a kick out of watching us for several minutes.

NOTE:......none of my skis are loud and obnoxious, I keep them on the stockish quiet side.

Straight pipe that Harley and ride it around at 2AM for a couple of weeks , they will soon totally forget about your noisy stand up , follow me for more neighborly advice.
I have had serious issues with my Harley’s

To the point I won’t ride my bikes into neighborhoods I live. I only go to and from the shop lol.

Plus this place is a dirt road also, someone told me yesterday they decibel test on the water. I swear I’ll be much less loud than multiple other owners with their respective machines, I truly think they just don’t want a stand up on the lake…

Im sure the noise standards will be much stricter for your ski than for anyone elses boat. Anyone with the authority WILL ALWAYS do whatever THEY want!!! It sounds like you have already been ousted.
