Good show! I just got home. My Dad and I went and he really enjoyed the show. He said it reminded him of the parking lot races they used to do in the '60s at night.
Hopefully this will return but damn the water was kinda on the yuck side.

I have to practice with my camera at night because none of my pictures turned out.

Did anyone get a newspaper reporter out there? I am making a wild guess at 150+ people watching??? Plus who knows how many more watched as they drove by.

If I knew I could of drove you to the shop 4 miles away and showed two under construction. I will have a demo ski soon. Right now I have to keep up with the work, so customer skis have to come first.

It was a small event to be sure....but IMO just the type of event that freestyle jetskiing needs more of. A stand alone, grassroots event (no racing) right on a busy road where people could stop and experience freestyle/freeride for the first time.

When Lloyd Burlew ran the American Flag around the 'fish bowl' under the lights on his ski during the national anthem, you could see traffic slowing and cars turning in/stopping.

Parrdaddy had an impressive ride. Several big barrel rolls including one over/through the water fountain in the middle of the 'fish bowl.' Highlight for me was seeing him do an underflip in flatwater on a stock hull!!!

x2 on expecting to see hometown matrix's riding

Was it a show or a competition or ...what? Did someone win something? Any details?

Interesting idea for an event. I hope whoever put this on decides to do more.

No he will not!
Warning: Opinion to follow!

This event was SO MUCH FUN! I had a blast for sure, and it was awesome to get to go up against a legend with Lloyd coming out. The coolest thing for me was having 2 am guys there!!! Both of them rode great. Hardcore Chris was looking good even though he had some water ingestion issues, and we had a first timer out there from the Orlando area, Johnny, who has apparently been sandbaggin since he rides way better than most rookies these days :Banane37: I'm going to be working on this kid, he claims he's a racer  but I think he may be better at this game.

All in all, this was a great success IMO. I hope we get to do this more, and the word on the street is that once per quarter may be the norm with Siggy's bar being the host :fest30: and WaterTop doing the promoting.

Next time we need more people. How can an event like this be won without any flatwater backies?!?!? This was freestyle from the old days :afro: and I liked it!

Lots of fun but for sure needs some backflips.
My ski has a stock engine so no go for me.

The skill and showmanship level was set pretty high for future competitions which might scare people off who can't barrel roll or flip.

The only issue I had was the music was way way way to loud. I couldn't even hear the skis running.

Lookin forward to the next one!

Since you mentioned it, the only issue I had was the music was way way way too lame.
For example: A-ha "take on me" was played during the riding:

Freestyle jetski soundtrack should be hip hop, punk, rock or something like that IMO. No oldtime easy listening or elevator music.

So what y'all are sayin is the music could have been better :jester: I'll mention that to the DJ next time I see him.

I can't wait for the next hoe-down :bananalama:
