He had been practicing for weeks prior to this. No way in hell would I one attempted a jump like this or two ever consider doing it at night. I would want a perfect smooth runway with no twists or turns like he had. Someone tell Edwin that he did it on a CR 500 too conversion bike too BRAAAAAP!!!!

Just found that on ESPN looking for the Red Bull MX jump. 245 feet on a sled is pretty impressive too! That distance made that tractor trailer look small...

Rhys Millen landed the backflip twice in practice on the 3ed he was hospitalize with 5 crushed vertebra..

Robby's 2nd jump came up shorter I believe....... he got hit by cross wind.

he probabably could have gone farther if he had a better route into the stadium, that turn he had to make held his speed down too much.

We watched it live, and all I can say is, my boy is INSANE! They said he was over 6 stories high in the air. Think about that. He jumped OVER a 6 story building and went 322 feet. just nuts. And like someone already said, he made it look easy.

The jump is insane, but the guy rides a lot of Southern California and Australia terrain and if you've ever seen the stuff the guys ride on a daily basis it is insane. This jump isnt a whole lot bigger than some of the stuff they do. Maddison was in Crusty Demons of Dirt 12 maybe others I dunno here is a section from Crusty 12 with him in it. It's called California Backyards, It's my absolute favorite section in any dirt bike video. Watch it on the DVD about 5 times a week. I'm actually gonna start a new thread with this video.

oh no i give him mad props for doin it he does have the record, but if you ride big all the time, big stuff isn't a stranger. just another jump to conquer.

exactly, that jump is very impressive.....but i am sure they have everything calculated so its not as dangerous as you may think. there is no way in hell he is just going for it, hoping to make it, he knows how fast he has to go and i am sure there is a speedo in that bike.

a world record jump like that would be sweet, all kinds of fame and its really not that hard, very ballsy, but as far as skill ehhh. you just need the money to set it up (and the balls to hit it). i think the X should sponsor one.......
