Red or Blue locktite on cylinder bolts

Base bolts: Red (572)
1st torque all to about 20' lbs then final torque to 29' lbs

No loctite on Head or cylinder to case bolts, just torque

maybe a tad bit of a thick marine grease to prevent corrosion.

Yamaha recommends a thread sealant only.

not only do they recommend it, they use it from the factory... liquid thread sealant, not tape... not thread locker

Yep, that's what the Yamaha service manual states. LocTite 572 thread sealant.

(Red Loctite is 271, btw)
