Red turf

I'm told it fades bad, and quick. You could probably keep it out of the sun whenever you're not riding for a longer lasting color. Otherwise it will be pink in half a season.:bad3:

very very fast. i had it on 2 seasons ago. it was was many shades over the short season we have. it was red then watermelon then salmon and ultimately pink. but not a hot pink. it sucked. i had it on for 3 months. dont get it unless you dont mind the fade. ill look for pics, it looked so bad a$$ when i first did it.

not to threadjack, but it's a very similar question:

what about purple hydro-turf? Same fade problem? I wanted to do up my SN in purple for my fiance...but don't want it looking like @ss, as I'd be turfing the rails and nose too most likely. On one hand, purple might stay purple even if it fades (better than having pink when you want red), but I'd rather have it not look faded at all...

From my experience, all hydroturf fades. Just pick a color that doesnt look bad when its faded...a long time ago I had a 550 with purple mats and they were faded to a light purple/lavander color, not too bad...as long as you didnt have a brand new peice of purple to compare.

Problem with red is that it goes to a gay ugly salmon pink...

I had lime green on my old sxr and half way through the summer it was light green, but still looked good. Still fades even if you cover your ski...unless you only ride at night.

If it is regular smooth turf, it can be revived by sanding off the "fade". I sand down my yellow turf every season (for the last 3 years) to bring it back to new. Just use 40 grit paper (rough stuff) on a DA, it sands real quick and adds new traction. You don't have to remove much. If the turf is grooved or diamond, you're living with it.

Flash-FX is correct in lightly sanding will bring back the color. I have also heard Scotch Guard helps protect the color but that is not something we have tried here.

not worth the money if you dont want the fade. you will be sanding it every time your done riding.

sorry man i guess i never got any pics of it on my ski. it wasnt worth takin pics even though it was probably my best turf job.
