Here's a quote from Group-K on reeds.

The stock Yamaha reeds and cages have consistently outperformed any aftermarket reeds we have tested. Some aftermarket reeds can offer better power for 20 - 30 operating minutes. However after that amount of time the material "looses its memory" or begins to chip. As this happens, the performance of these weakened aftermarket reeds becomes worse than stock.

Group-Kmart doesn't believe in strokers, TL ignitions, O-ring heads, BlackJack carbs, etc. either.........basically lots of stuff that REALLY works well.:Flush:

i have found that the TDR reeds are VERY resilient, but only if you order the ones that they make for use in rental units. theyre a bit thicker and dont have the 'cut-ins' on each reed petal that make for a norrower "hinge".

There is no way I would ever run a metal reed in one of my motors no matter who says to. I don't care what they are made of, they are going to break some day!

well i have v force reeds now cuz that is what the ski came with. but my ski is like a light switch its no power or all power. i have a set of stock cages coming with the stuffers and i want to make sure i have reeds that will give me much smoother power transition.
