Regarding Jeff "Kamikaze" Kantz

As a personal favor to me would you take a minute to drop a quick note to Jeff at:
kamikaze9293@cox.net

Rather you knew him or not. If he touched your life or if you have a story to tell him about his days doing Freestyle I would like for you to tell him. I got an email from him yesterday and I think "The Father Of Freestyle" could use a little "Pick Me Up" from his jetski family.

The past couple of seasons, Jeff has been known to show up at Mike Youngs's Surf & Turf, region 7 races. Jeff still has the desire to ride.
I always enjoy spending time with him. He is truely one of the greats in our sport!!

That pic was taken at Body Beach.

I have that poster. Hangs on my wall. I bought a mint one off Ebay about a year ago for $22+shipping.

Jeff was sponsored by Yamaha for a while back then.
Rick Roy was sponsored by sea doo as well. It was wierd seeing a superjet with sea doo on it too.

Out of all the jet ski legends I've gotten to hang out with, Jeff has to be the nicest, most humble, genuinely good guy I've met. One of the best things about a Surf and Turf event is there is a good chance Kamakazi will be there!
Heres Jeff and son D-Man in Panama 05. :hail:

Wasn't Kantz the first to do a barrel roll? Look what that bad idea turned into.

Yes! Most people think it was Rick Roy. Kantz did it first AND used a boat wake to do it. People raised holy Hell about it too because he brought a boat into the Freestyle area to get the wake. And now....hmmmmm we are using 2 boats to aquire a wake. The man was well before his time. I would say 60% of all Freestyle tricks done today were done 1st by Jeff Kantz. It was an exciting time. You just never knew what he would bring next. You would just stand there with your mouth open totally blown away.
And....he was doing it on an X2!

even before Chris "crash" Williams and Brett McCartney? That yellow and blue x-2 is sweet. Nice pics.
