The Hot Water Tour would like to extend an open invitation to anyone that would like to attend it's first annual APRIL FOOLS DAY BASH! This will be an informal gathering of riders and racers in order to get prepared for the upcoming 2007 race season. This will also be an excellent opportunity to meet the Hot Water Tour staff, get the low down of what to expect from the upcoming season, ride some bouys with other racers, fine tune your skis for the upcoming year, and get excited about the 2007 race season without all the stresses of race day.
We will be setting up bouys on Sunday morning, getting the start line in place, and a course marshal boat will be in the water. We will be running a organzied practice session that will have the following categories:
-Beginner ski (Newby's, beginners, amauter, and novice riders only)
-Advanced ski (Expert, Pro-am, and Pro riders only)
-Runabout 800 open (all Runabout 800 riders allowed)
-Sport open (all Sport class riders allowed)
-Beginner Runabout 1200 (Newby's, beginners, amauter, and novice riders only)
-Advanced Runabout 1200 (Expert, Pro-am, and Pro riders only)
A total of six seperate practice heats will be run per session and eash session will be alternated throughout the day and will run as many sessions as we can from 11am till 5 or 6pm. Each session will last 20 minutes.
Anyone can attend. You do not have to be a racer to ride and you do not have to ride the course if you choose not to. There is plenty of space to ride elsewhere besides on the course. This is an excellent opportunity to get your feet wet, ask questions, and mingle with current racers. If you have never raced before or are planning on participating in your first race this year, this is a good way to get to know fellow riders and racers.
You MUST be on the starting line when your sessions is ready to go, however, you do not have to do a formal start if you choose not to, you just have go in between the starting gate when your practice session is released onto the track in a safe manner. Nobody is allowed to jump in after the practice session has started, you must wait until your next practice session if you miss your turn. DO NOT CUT THE COURSE. Anyone doing this will get warned only once, if you do not comply, you will be asked to stay off the course, or asked to leave. Anyone riding on the course MUST wear a full faced helmet and USCG approved life jacket. NO EXCEPTIONS. Shoes are highly recommended as the beach is shelly. Gloves and eye protection are also highly recommended. Lets have fun, but also be safe at the same time.
Please Read and understand the following rules:
This gathering is designed to boost interest levels in riding and racing as well as boost the excitement level of the upcoming race season. This is an informal gathering, therefore, it is considered a non-event and is NOT sanctioned by any sanctioning body including the APBA, IJSBA, or Hot Water Tour. By attending this event you are agreeing to abide by the rules set for this gathering.
Anyone riding in a unsafe or irresponsible manner will be asked to leave. Please respect others that may be enjoying the beach as it is a public beach. If you have a bad attitude or are looking for trouble, please do not attend. We want everyone to have a good time enjoying a common interest, the passion for riding and racing.
Ride at your own risk.
We ask that you please do not bring enclosed trailers or RV's to the beach as parking is very limited and the beach is EXTREMELY soft and run the risk of getting stuck. Since this is a NON event, we are also trying to be as low key and discreet as possible since we can be seen directly from a major highway that runs right along side the beach. We do not want law enforcement to shut down the practice session. Therefore, NO commercial signs or banners are allowed. If Law enforcement does come by, it is your responsibility to make sure your PWC's and vehicles are equipped with all the necessary safety equipment (i.e whistle, fire extinguisher, license plate, etc.) needed in order to make it legal to drive or ride in Florida. Please clean up after yourselves. There are trash cans on the beach so please use them. If you choose to bring dogs, please clean up after them as well.
No four wheelers are allowed since you can back your vehicle right to the waters edge and are not needed here. There will be plenty of people to help bring your ski to the water if you choose to park away from the waters edge. Just ask. A 4X4 truck is recommended since the beach is soft. NO ALCHOLIC BEVERAGES ALLOWED. Anyone caught drinking and riding will be asked to leave. Ride responsibly.
