Reinforcing a pump tunnel? needed and why?

I saw on a couple PWC forums, people reinforcing their sitdown pump tunnels, there are even some models that have available pre-molded reinforcments that you just install yourself.

Why would a pump tunnel break? is this something relatively common?
I still have my superjet tray opened so I could just go and reinforce it but is it needed, is it an area that is prone to breaking?

thanks!

The bottom of a superjet is strong as sh**. A few years ago I beached my pos 91 hull strait up on to a cement divider covered by water while surf riding sketchy 4 footers on lake Erie. Ugly gouge but hull survived with no glass work needed.

Reinforcing superjets is for going upside down to save the top deck from side slapping roles and pole mount area from pancaked flip attempts.

It's a real thing for some skis. I installed the premade insert in our FZS when we started hitting speeds in the 80's. It's not a fun job, but much better than dealing with a crack in the pump tunnel.

What if I plan to go 75+ mph on my superjet? Would need reinforcing?
Just kidding, thanks for the infos, i was just curious cauz I never saw this on a superjet!
