I put mine in the oven at 300deg for 20 min. Use thick welding gloves to handle cyl and knock out sleeves with rubber mallet. I had one with a cracked sleeve once that I could NOT get out.

Yep that will do it,but one word of caution,if you are doing this inside your house, make sure the old lady is gone for a few hours, ventilate the hell out of it and give it a few hours to calm down,it will stink up your house and she may not be happy.

sleeve removal

i used small stainless welding rod and ran strips of weld down the bores (being careful not to overheat the aluminum casting) when the weld cools and shrinks the sleeves damn near fall out. it worked very well for me.

I used the grill. Just set them on there, and tap it with a rubber mallet every 5 minutes until they come out. Kinda hard to do that while they're in an oven. Put the new sleeves in the freezer for a few hours, and you can drop them right back in there. Take the cylinder off the grill, and put them in the top half of some cases to hold them while you drop the new sleeves in. You have maybe 30 seconds to line the ports up. Bolt a head on there to keep them from creeping back out while it cools. It's not hard to do. Just have everything set up ahead of time.

I am guilty of using the gas grill before myself,I just moved my old oven out to the shop when I got a new one ,I can heat the shop and remove sleeves at the same time which is good except in the summer.
