Super Jet Removing SN hood liner

How do you remove a square nose hood liner?

I've been using a hammer and chisel and have gotten most of the sections seperated.
How did you guys reach the sections where a chisel, cut off wheel and angle grinder don't reach.

Thanks.

Took my entire hood liner out in one piece in 15 min with a propane torch. Heat breaks down that green glue's bond. Heat the liner where te glue is underneath it. Keep making passes back and forth over the same area. It will stink and the white liner may turn brown. Work the sides up with a big flat head screwdriver and keep prying your way around. I read all the how to's for this task and the torch worked the best for me. So good that when I cut up and reshaped my square, I used it on the tray area to separate the layers I wanted gone that were bonded by the glue

I honestly wouldn't even attempt another way. I'm fully confident I could separate a sn hull top and bottom within an hour with this method!

It won't melt. It will blister and turn brown and by that time the glue is to the point where the bond is broken and can be Pryed apart

Heat worked wonders! Still took a while to get free but a lot easier..

I weighed them with a bathroom scale just to see the weight..

Hood w/ liner 17 lbs
Hood w/o liner and green crap 9ish

Its not really about weight, since the savings are so small. The whole purpose is to prevent all the water the stock hood lets in. You block the stock air grates and but breathers in the back so you don't gulp as much water when you go under. Worth it on any square.

Cons are its a pain the ass to do
