Removing the SJ Rail Caps

Alright, I'm removing the stock turf on my 08 SJ, got all of it off no problem. Now the rail caps, how in the hell do people get these things off? They are glued down with some super superglue that acetone doesn't even seem to eat at. The rubber rips before the glue will rip. Any tips? This is the last step before I cut in for my holds.

Thanks a lot.

I don't know what they glue them on with...but it will break razor blades.
I was lucky enough to get mine off without damage. After going thru that, I decided to use them. They are better (softer) than turf.
Butti did the work, but here's a pic:

I have got all of the rubber off using a wire wheel, but the glue still remains, hard as hell. Is it alright to cement over this?

This has been the most stressful thing to deal with.. Some of the rubber is glued almost to the gel coat where the turf wont cover and getting that off is hard to do without chipping gel coat that will show. Why oh why does Yamaha use this impenetrable glue?
