Just ordered a gallon.... Its supposed to be about the same working time as polyester or vinyl. Its UV stable in like us composites and others.supposed to wet out better as well. Anyone use any resin research products. I think Trinity uses the 2000 resin research system I may be wrong.

I HATE waiting on epoxy to dry and having to baby sit it .

Resin research is the shot they are minutes from me they have crystal clear resin and trinity does not use resin research is very very close but Bobby changes some stuff

I use Resin Research 2070 for all my infusions. On my smaller parts I had really inconsistent results with curing. Hull infusions cured very well. I'm thinking it had something do to with using the extra slow hardener with a set time of 200 minutes. Keep us posted on your experience with it.

I'm not familiar with the kwik kick resin but the 2070 infusion resin is crystal clear and very similar to water in viscosity. Not ideal for hand layups but it's perfect for infusions.

TWO HUNDRED MINUTES ! ...... That certianly gives you time to find your good scissors . Laying up a hull I guess the more time the better.

The other thing the rep said about quick kick is that it was their strongest resin . They did not have official numbers to support the claim , but I assume the claim is more scientific than a b-pipe screw adjustment..... I'll let you guys , know should have it next week.


Anybody else use Resin research ..... Let's open it up to Trinitys t-3 resin as well.

Yeah I had heard so much about lengthy infusion times combined with the need to degas the epoxy prior to beginning the infusion that I thought I'd go with extra slow just to be safe. Turns out the 2070 is so thin it degasses almost immediately and the low viscosity also allowed the hull infusion to complete in the span of 20-30 minutes. For the purpose of a hull infusion an hour set time would be great with this resin.

Interesting that they did not have specific numbers for you as I was able to find very specific details on the 2070 system.

I think the quick kick is some what of a new product ?

It's popular with surf board makers used as a hot coat due to the cure time / clarity and UV protection. Sounds like a good resin small parts and hull mods . Additionally there is an additive that aids in sanding for visual parts. Sounds much like the wax additive used in poly resin systems. I guess we will see.

Well the resin came in yesterday..... All I can say is you better have your crap together. This stuff wets out well but cures fast . The small test panels seem more rigid just bending them by hand . I think it will be great for small parts and repairs . It really cures fast .... did I mention that it cures fast ?
