Super Jet Reuse pump bearings? Buying Solas Mag

Hey all, I want to put a solas mag pump on my superjet. I am positive they are good since there's only one season on the ski. I never took apart a pump, if I use a press at work should it be no problem to swap them including the seals? If it'll be any problem what so ever i'll order all the bearings and seals from the dealer. I just don't want to waste money. Thanks

One bearing is a little tricky to press in and out, as it goes over the shaft and inside the pump. A buddy of mine found a nut that works perfect to press both the inner and outer rings of the bearing at the same time. Someone makes a purpose built tool to use for this I'm told. JM's bearing / seal kits are perfectly fine imo and will deal with anything you throw at them.

Made in USA skat trak uses junk stainless on their setback pumps. I'd stick with a non setback and use an oem shaft.

But be ready for the 1500-2500$ price tag with a skat pump.

Yeah just weighed the options .. I went with solas and wsm rebuild kit. Although Skat is USA - Way too much of a price difference for me to justify getting one. Thanks everybody. This stuff better not grenade like everything else from China.

Bc I dont want chinese bearings in my pump. Why change quality japanese bearings that have none or very little wear?

Our bearings are Japanese, cant say about others.

your new pump is chinese, might as well have bearings to match...
solas makes great stuff but its the most mass produced, made in china company in the jetski industry...

Solas is based in Taiwan, but not sure if their pumps are made there?

i have used the wsm pump bearings in the past, make sure to pop the seals out of the bearings and pack them with some quality marine grease, then reinstall bearing seals, you would be suprised how little grease is in them from wsm.
