300/440/550 Rev limiter needed??

I'm looking at removing the rev limiter on my 550. Can I just remove the whole assembly and run my return line straight back into the tank instead of through the rev limiter? Or do I need to run it through it for a restriction? I'd Like to just clean up all the fuel lines and make everything as simple as possible. I assume I would just leave the wires that go from it unhooked inside the e box?

BTW I am running a SBN 44 carb.

Yes I need it....or yes I can remove it?

I know people unhook them, but I was wondering if I still need it as a restrictor even with the SBN44 carb?
 
I opend the e Box unhocked everything and sealed the 3'rd hole coming out of the e box with a brass plug from loewe's. Then removed complete return line and replaced it with a new one. I dont know anymore if I had to restrict the return line on the SBN 44 but i can recall that all jetttinf specs supplied where way to high and the ski was drowning in fuel. We ended up with 1,5 N/S and 110 Low 120 High and 95 G spring:popworm:

wow i`m lost what the hell do gas lines and rev limiter have in comin ? rev limiter is in ebox and gas lines go to carbs ? is this some old school rev set up ?
