Rick Roy Lowered bracket, and pole, help fitting a spring..

I have a RRP and dual breather lowered RRP bracket with a spring tensioner...

I would like to run a spring and not just tighten up the bolt with a spacer and run it that way.

I have emailed RRP twice and no reply (over a month ago)

I have spoken to blowsion who said you have to drill a hole and bend the spring and is a pain to fit..

Before I ruin the spring and and RRP can anyone help?

I have searched forums and googled but nothing? Some one must be running a spring with their RRP and bracket, I have a blowsion 96+ spring and a UMI but neither are close, some guidance would be appreciated?

I have posted on some UK forums but no one had replied or helped :0(

Thanks for you help in advance.

PS no replys like whys do you want run a spring run without! I do and its fine... get used to it..

The question is how to fit a spring to a RRP and RRP lowing braket!

:0) thanks!

Which part of the spring do you bend the short or the long part? and I take it you drill a hole to the right in the corner near the other?? do you bed the which ever part 90deg 180?

thanks for your imput!

Does anyone know what the hole is actually for?

Thanks

Nathan

summer spring dilemma

Without looking at it I am going to tell you that you don't really need the hole for the spring as long as it has enough tension just sitting on top of the bracket. Maybe you could get your hands on some other springs from different skis and try them. I feel you on wanting to run a spring... I got a bad case of tendonitis and lifting my handlepole doesn't help things. Still not running a spring myself though.

Ok.... think I have sussed out how to do this......

If anyones interested I will take pictures and post them, hoping to get it sorted this weekend...

Will be using the blowsion HD Spring RRP Lowered bracket and RRP pole...

Watch this space...

i just finished installing my rick roy pole with the dual hole bracket. it is indeed a tough install. directions from rrp are absolutely horrendous. they shouldnt even bother supplying directions as it doesnt even mention how to fit the spring, yet they sell a rrp spring tensioner, which fyi i have no idea how the spring would fit onto that. in either case, i used the stock spring and cut the end piece where it bends off on the one side. i swapped the rubber things and had a time fitting the breather tubes in but it definately worked.

Yeh, I did the same, it's a bitch. when you are done it doesn't even look like much air even gets in there, it looks all crimped up. I switched mine to the waterdawg lowered bracket with only the center hole. A better setup I think. You also gotta use a SJ spring. I drilled another hole to make it work.

I've put a pole spring on my RRP pole.
I used a 750 kwak spring and fitted a 14mm tube inside the spring bolted to the pole at each end. You have to use long bolts because when you start tightening them, you are tensioning the spring.
I also had to cut off the "L" return off the end of the spring that goes up the pole.

I hope this helps, excuse the state of my ski:frown:
