Rick Roy Pole

Who is running the Rick Roy pole and what are Your dislikes and likes about the pole. Does it hold up well from excessive use in the salt water.

Thank You for Your input.

My friend has one, seems very heavy, I think for racing it would be great, but for freeride I think stock or some of the others would be lighter, they are very well built and top quality

Thank You guys for all the help. I really am thinking of getting one to go on my sxr. I like the look and th adjustabilty of the pole.

Thanks again for all the input.

too expensive and hhhheavy.adjustability is nice but once you find your sweet spot you usually don't need to adjust anymore so it's kind of a gimmick in a way.i like the dual breathers tough.

i have one on my SXR, and i like it. i like the looks, quality, and adjustability. i will agree, once i got it set, i haven't moved it, but it did take me 4 or 5 try's to find the right spot for me. with a fixed pole, you have to guess what you want, and then you are stuck. (i have also run UMI's)

i do wish it was lighter, but, it's a good trade off IMO.

I still think it is the bset pole out there, especially for someone who does not know how long they want their pole. I have changed the length of mine 3 times, and am planning on making it shorter before Daytona. It is top heavy, but I removed my spring this year, and will never put one back on.

And the pole is only adjustable 2 inches in either direction, so if you want it more than 2 inches shorter than the way it comes, you have to cut it, and then you can never go longer again (without modification that is)

I though you can go negative 6 and plus 2?

Restosud- didn't I see you just buy 1 on ebay?

I love the pole, easy to install, working with one section at a time. I have broken a couple of pole, but that was because I was running a WDK bracket. Rick sent me a RRP bracket, and I haven't had any problem since...By far the best pole that I have used. As you know all I ride is surf, and it's holding up well, no rust...or any accessive wear that I've experienced.

For salt water, grease the tubes where they slide in and out. Don't overtorque the clamping bolts. And for fooks sake, run the threaded safety rod! (we call it the "Jesus bolt")

yeap scorn,i did.it's my 2nd one.i still think they're too much$ and wayyyyyyy to heavy.
i have an xft on a sj and that is nice imo.

I am still a fan of the Waterdawg billit pole. Not the cheapest but very well built. Light also at around 10lbs
