Ive been considering building a ski over the last 6 months and have zoned in all all types of rickters. Searched for this but no luck. I realize the Edge FR is built up extra to take a beating in the surf and so on. How does all of this equate to weight difference between the two hulls?

Been told 10-15 lbs. I probably would have gotten an FS if I had ordered. Honestly, FR feels lighter than a sj hull.

Medium. Plus I am 230lbs. Rode one of Taylor's with short plate and it did wheelies. Medium works perfect. Flips and rolls easy.

I like the short ride plate on mine. The rear sponsons keeps the rear planted. I don’t think many would need anything longer. Don’t think this will ever be a flatwater freestyle ski though.

So at the end does anyone know what is the official difference in net empty hull weight between EDGE FR and EDGE FS? Is there also any structural or technical difference between FR and FS?

I purchased an Edge FR.. love it. But curious what ball park total weight is. I hear 350-370 lbs. does that sound right.

That weight is too high. Mine is lighter than my SJ, and same with other SJ's I have helped move. Never weighed mine.

The FS has a lighter layup schedule. But even lighter, There are a few guys here who ordered the orginal Edge FS and strictly rode surf........ Those hulls are still going 8 years later.

Just weighed a new Edge fs. no gas, antigravity battery, 1100 dasa, laydown pipe, rear and front gas tank, 155 skat pump, etc. 308lbs

Thanks a bunch joeschit. I have a very similar set up. I hear the Edge FR which I have could be an extra 10-15 lbs for extra lay up/glass...so I am probably at 320+/- lbs. dry . Add 5 gallons of gas and I am at 350 lbs.

Assuming the build up is about the same for edge and icon.
Figure there would be some bare numbers in this thread since nothing was ever said.

Those numbers are pretty accurate. Each hull is going to vary in weight.......

Alectravis. Thanks for the Rise numbers. Seems like my Edge FR complete ski is generally around 30-35+- lbs heavier than a carbon flat water ski. All good
