VK Composites owns the factory that builds Rickters, not RRP. They just where RRP T-shirts for the Rickter walk thru videos. They also build their own race hulls and who knows what else. Maybe Rick Roy had a falling out with them.

Industry Rumor mill has been going for almost a year now about RRP scaling back/closing up shop. Major changes happening for sure, whether they close down completely long term who knows. I know the hulls themselves don't make RRP a lot of money, its the poles and accessories that keep the lights on.

They most likely aren't going out of business. But the supply chain issues I call bs on. The other hull manufactures seem to be doing fine. Unless you live under a rock, rrp out sources the building of there hulls, and probably everything else tbh. I highly doubt they will stop selling hulls all together but as most of us are familiar with the b pipes supply it's probably similar to that where the are making other products that they own the rights to out of vk and rrp products are on the back burner and only doing small batches. Plus there are always 3 sides to every story. His/hers. And the truth. A lot of parties are involved in them and every partnership encounters some sort of struggle no matter how good it is.

Container shortage has been their biggest issue. Just as soon as they almost had a container full, someone needed their hull quicker and paid for Air Freight. This might be for 2 or 3 hulls. I know of one person alone that got so tired of waiting he bit the bullet and had his hulls air freighted. Buy doing this, it dropped the capacity down to where they had to get more hulls ready and at this point, the available container was gone, Now they have to wait on another container to come available for the entire shipment.

Oh no! We might have to start buying hulls that are made in America! There are several highly capable hull manufacturers here in the states, I'd buy any of these over a Ricky or Krash again.

Problem is my wife is down for me to spend the money on what ever hull I want, as long as it's visually appealing and matches the feng shui of the rest of our stuff. And that's the full story of why I own a rickter as much as I would have loved to own a us made ski.
