RICKTER talk

For Christ Sake man! You just don't do that!!!

Lol I know I know man :( but they look nice, are light and have some flotation.

Plus I've always hated the cookie cutter trend of everyone doing the same thing - but if it works and it's proven... Hard to complain other then the $$$$$ spent

Just don't see it being practical with the 2 breathers on the rick etc.

I clipped the carabiner to my pole and it damaged the finish of the pole. I found better success with wrapping the rope around the pole instead.

I use the OEM hood latch to secure the other end of the rope.

I've never bothered with a pole limitier since i went to a AM hull, I thought it was mainly to stop you over extending a SJ pole anyway?

Tray on the Edge is quite deep. I have put an additional thin layer of padding (the green one) and the long bow eye barely had some thread underneath. Rickter Edge tray is filled with foam. I put some 5200 once I drilled the hole around the foam inside the hole to try seal it as much as I can. Left it overnight and next day put the bow eye on. I also put some superglue under the lip of the bow eye and let it stick to the turf or it would sink in under the turf as you tighten it down. I hated to drill a brand new hull, however a bow eye for the surf is an absolute must.
Another thing to mention for reference, the foot holds that come from the factory are made to destroy your toes. Both of these on the pic have been cut, modified and re-turfed.
Edge FR is a heavy hull made to sustain heavy surf abuse. It also carves extremely hard. Therefore small engines are not the best option for optimum handling. I have been riding it for quite some time and recently put 950 DASA, 8mil with 148 pump built, installed and tuned by Thrust Innovations. The ski handling has improved dramatically. It comes out of turns so much easier and it becomes a lot more nimble.
I would definitely recommend bigger power for that hull if you want to have smile on your face every time you hit or slash a wave.
Other recommendations for the Edge: Throw that rubber flap scupper in the garbage ASAP and get a versiplug type. I bought mine OVP from France, but believe Thrust has them in stock now.

I havn't put tubbies yet but that will be done soon.
Whoever you order your Edge from, ask for extra soft padding on the pole shock pad. The factory piece is harder than a cement.
If you ride surf, front foot hold is an awesome thing to have as well.

Seen you've taken the rear sponsons off? Did you not like them? Lads i ride with have made their own rear sponsons out of sheet ally plate and covered them in turf.....They work pretty well comapred to the old ones.

I never put them on since I got the ski. Never felt the need.
Last week i put Blowsion tubbies on. I have ridden it with tubbies only once. It def made a difference. Before i was able to power sub it easy, not any more.
Def more stable, although it didnt bother me before. It feels like it is turning slower now, but i guess i need to adjust to the new setup with tubbies on and slash the wave more aggressive.

How do the rails hold up with the rear sponsons removed? Any gelcoat cracks? My second edge has a few stress cracks. Run the sponsons all the time now for a bit of extra support for the big stuff.

I think Gomez rode your edge in the Euro IFWA rounds so that would explain the cracks ;).........Saw some hefty flat landings on that. Rear sponsons will make the tail slide out more when surf riding so loosing hook up especailly with a smaller motor. I like the look of the 2016 edge as they've changed a few things to make it more surf friendly.
