Rickter Tie Downs, Exhaust, and Other Newb Questions

Yes I searched. I'm looking for debate on pros and cons to your setup.

How do you tie down your rear?
  • Strap over top with towel- Stress on tray? Scratch ski?
  • Thrust pump loop - stress on one pump bolt?
  • Strap over and around pump seen on Blowison video - strength of both rear pump bolts but does it stress exit nozzle?

+1 For the Mac fleece like Brownie said. I got mine to eye bolts but you could use it like uwswimmer is with an endless strap and go completely around runners.

The foam is totally encased in the fleece. Picture a 4" wide sock, with 1" of hook on one side and 1" of loop on the other, with the foam spaced evenly in the sock. The hook and loop fold over your strap to keep it centered. I use a 1" wide strap which centers nicely on the 2" foam. Buy the widest, longest one Mac makes. The excess just adds protection for your prized possession. So far this thing has held up great, no unraveling ,doesn't come loose and does a great job of keeping strap from "wandering " around on ski.
@Brownie @mikesx are the Macs fleese covers foam padded on one side? I noticed they also make a set for 1" wide webbing where the sleeve seems just as wide as the sleeve for the 2" wide webbing that seems like a great option. Just curious about the padding or is thr sleeve thin?

thanks for the photos. better than what the OEM shows haha. Just to confirm there is foam padding sewed in or is it just fleece? If so i think i'm going to order a set of these. Thanks for sharing

Yeah there is probably a 2" wide x 1/4 or 3/8 thick piece of foam/padding sewn in. I ordered 32" long from Summit racing thru ebay, about $24 shipped.

USCC, MAC's or did you find something else? I'm going to order once I measure the ski tonight :) Thanks for making the thread

I went with the MAC's. Cheaper on their site but more once you add in shipping. If your going to order multiple or other straps you may want to order form there site. Otherwise it was $22 shipped on amazon.

I have order other items from USCC direct before, they are good to work with too.

@DAG I found most skis I could get my hands on to be between 30-32 inches at the widest points (measuring for spacing on trailer/truck). I'll share some pics of mine over the ski when it comes Friday.
