Up next the ATP Flame TS ignition system. Should be arriving next week. I was going to get myself an MSD TL but the decrease of value for € bumped up the price to 2290€ (about the same in $). Laughed and ordered the Flame. Cant wait to see how the ATP ignition works with this setup.

Finally back in Finland (I work in Sweden) with some spare time to complete the build.

Here's the ignition

EDIT: Has anyone here tuned a Flame ignition? If so, what kind of curve are you running on your setup?

Friday night, couple of friends and some cold beer = good times.

Pump was shimmed to near perfection. ATP Flame correctly fitted and timed. Had to travel back to Sweden so the build will continue in June. Nothing special left, just the primer and fuel lines, deutz-connectors for the wires and some small detailing.

Agreed ^. Very nice build. How long is the riding season in Finland? Are there restrictions on two strokes at all? I assume lots of lakes/rivers. I was thinking about visiting next year. Hope you're enjoying the new ski

Thanks for the comments. Our riding season depends on how tough you are. If you can cope with seriously cold water then your good to go. For me, it's just 2-3 months tops.

Question regarding spark plugs;

What plugs would you guys recommend for this setup? At the moment it has BR7ES and I am a bit concerned if it's too hot. Previous engine had BR8ES. Am I good to go or should I change the plugs from 7ES to 8ES?

Damn I am pleased with this setup. After playing around a little with the novis and pipe, it seriously packs a punch even though only 850cc with a 144 mag.

Guys, whats your opinion? Riding season is over so I have adequate time to get myself new parts.

Update the setup with either PFP or RRP? Which one would work best with the 850? Iv'e read alot about PFP being good around mid to top and on 1000cc above. The RRP should give more bottom end and work with 850. Any thoughts?

Also, 155 or 148 pump? H20 torrent setback would be a lot cheaper than 155 skat. Any recommendations for prop pitch?

Coupe of pics :)

I went from pfp to RRP, couldn't be happier, the weight savings and fit quality were huge over my PFP, (PFP fit was terrible on mine, blew couplers weekly)

I would highly recommend a H20 Torrent to put behind that 850. I have a 2012 glass XFR with a 850 DASA that I could flip with a Torrent and a 9/15 prop pitch.
That pump hooks up so well and makes that motor work at the right RPM.

Thanks for the info. I bought the RRP pipe.

The pump and prop are still a question mark. Does the H20 setback work fine with 1000cc engines? I'll probably move on to the xscream 1000 after the dasa and was wondering how the pump would work with that engine? Just planning for the future.

Hi

I run a 4mm DASA 900 PFP, 48 novis and went from 144 Solas pump to 148 Set back H20.....massive diffrence in low end pop for Flat water, acceleration and huge diff in surf (white water traction, etc)...best upgrade after the short block itself....sure a 155 will be even better but i cant fit that in my SF

Can't wait to put it in and hear the sound.

Still not sure which pump to choose. o_O

Time for an update.

So I was going to get myself the H20 148 torrent pump but changed my mind at the last second. I eventually decided to go with the Skat 155 billet setback. Prop is going to be 7/15. Hopefully that pump will last a long time.

Additionally, something unexpected happened a week ago. My friend Iseewetpeople decided to "quit" FW freestyle and focus more on surf i.e. swap his existing TPE 964 engine to a more reasonable/reliable 760. The TPE has 12 hours on it and it was basically going to sit on the shelf from here on out. Naturally I got interested and after a couple hours of fierce price battle, we struck a good deal.

So this basically means that the 850 Dasa with 8 hours will now retire. Expect the unexpected. o_O

Sounds like RRP products are a bit overrated these days. Is it really that common for the WB to fail? You would think that the r&d department would have fixed these kind of issues in the past years...

BTW, are the more recent RRP waterboxes prone to let water into the engine like the older ones? I only got 1 EVA block in my kit so I assume I can mount the waterbox without an evablock to raise it. @Harbor, do you have any info on this?

Good thing, you choose a 155mm over a 148mm. But isn't your XFS the 2013/2014 model? Will the 155mm pump fit this intake tunnel without modifications? :)

Christian, the base XFS of 2014 doesn't support 155 from what I know. The ninja competition has a larger intake and pump tunnel. 155 will fit plug 'n play
