Freestyle Rickter XFS sinks within 1 second

Aleks Petrovic's freestyle ski sinks to the bottom of the lake within 1 second flat, less than 24h before the final round of the National Freestyle, in which he is the points leader! If he doesn't run this weekend he loses the championship because the final round counts double.

I would say that it was already filled with water. another thing to note is that the rear tray area is very small+ the footholds are heavy thus not having much buoyancy to the hull if this was to happen.

I think that's the hull he had to reinforce bc the decks started to separate maybe his glass work came off

I don't think there is any way for it to sink that fast without the hood coming loose/off.

i had my exhaust hose blow off, and my xfs filled with water and it floated.

that ski also has some major carbon repair to it, its probably not tight any more.

Are you meaning the hull under the tray must have already been full of water or ruptured and therefore no air pocket to keep it at the surface when the hood came loose ?
