Well, to put it simply, the AWA is the only establishment that actually has any impact on our rights to ride. A few years ago the majority of National Parks were closed to PWC because of the Blue Water Network lawsuit. I personally have lost a few square miles of riding area and a couple of dozen riding buddies who left the sport because of the ban.not to stir the pot... but that's a bold statement. I guess your paying for my "right" to ride as well. Before this thread, I wasn't very educated with the AWA... I just ride to ride, and wasn't worried about joining any groups. You make it sounds like you need to earn the right to ride, by paying somebody money to get a membership card and a sticker for your jet ski. Dont' get me wrong, I don't mind donating money to a good cause....
BTW, the $24 membership is a lot less than a $70 fine you have to pay if you stray into the "restricted area" for some reason, for instance you are running low on gas. The Park Police does not care. Nor they are going to let another PWC in to tow you out.
