Well, to put it simply, the AWA is the only establishment that actually has any impact on our rights to ride. A few years ago the majority of National Parks were closed to PWC because of the Blue Water Network lawsuit. I personally have lost a few square miles of riding area and a couple of dozen riding buddies who left the sport because of the ban.
BTW, the $24 membership is a lot less than a $70 fine you have to pay if you stray into the "restricted area" for some reason, for instance you are running low on gas. The Park Police does not care. Nor they are going to let another PWC in to tow you out.

okay, come on now, im an awa member - used to be a basher.... thought they were useless..... but soon realized that theyre only up to OUR best interest... RIDING.

i do not begrudge anybody for not being a member. there was a time that NONE of us were members. it didnt make us bad, uncaring, or irresponsible people. it simply made us a little less aware of the hatred that is bestowed upon us (unfortunately, sometimes well earned hatred)

kenneth and vitaly are both good people. they may not see eye to eye, but fuggit. who cares? i can count, on 19.8 hands, people that ive disagreed with.

what the AWA does for some people is equally as valuable as what they dont do for others, i s'pose.

for instance, theyve been rallying to re-open biscayne national park back to jetskiers. i can see how banning PWCs from there is a good thing though..... its typically non-english speaking meatballs the feel the need to show off on their $10,000.00 couches with no regard for safety, laws or courtesy.

is it fair to punish EVERYBODY because of a select few?

Not to knock brutha Kennay, or his way of current thinking but try to think of it this way... if I'm doing a build and some chucklheads get the local politicos to pass a law outlawing riding in my fave spot(s)... that directly impacts ME! Kinda pointless in all the money I just invested in my build ski as my local spot is gone. That's a hell of an expensive useless garage ornament! Again, not knocking anyone for not being a member, but would rather try to get others to think of things that can directly effect them, before it's too late. Can you imagine if the Condo proponents or someone else managed to sink the local Daytona riding zones? :cool2:

exactly.... they have tried to ban driving on the beach using the lame excuse of turtles and turtles don't even lay eggs near condo walls, they need dunes
