Ride Plate & Intake grate combo's?

What are some tried tested and true combos out there! looking for a great free ride set up. I like the blowsion D cut, but not a fan of a composite plate and Worx doesn't make a D cut for pre 08 hulls. I have there W design plate and 201 intake and not really impressed with the W plate. Any inputs on other items? thanks

Stock plate d cut and a worx 201 on my square and my carbon RN both handled great. Cornered and hooked up well while still being able to slide out easy.

I ran the same on my RN and liked it. After I shortened my plate and D cut it, it really made my shins nervous. The metal is very thin and sharp. Im new so I spent alot of time trying to re-enter the tray from deep water. I was constantly worried about the plate. Im going with the blowsion when I rebuild it

Agreed on the sharp edges, little sketchy. The cut stockers are also a little weak on the edges where the cut is made. I broke one plate on my square when the rear end clipped the bottom of the lake on take off.

Thats all I will ride is JD. I ride with the intake and DD ride plate. Ive tried Works combo and the JD combo is in my opinion by far superior. I do not ride surf, I free ride lakes jump boat wakes and play around with the bouys. I would not ride anything else especially the intake grate. Way more hook up on flate water.

Agree on the Worx 201 intake. However, the stock rideplate with a "D" cut is weak, in that, any air tricks, bad landings etc... well, mine was bent to crap in a few rides.
Ended up with a Worx Dominator.....yea, the long one, but cut it off at stock length. It has a modest d-hole in it and works well. A lot beefier than stock.

i see that blowsion makes a replica worx 201 in stainless! personally i have never cracked a intake grate but the $280 price point is kind of steep i think. Anyone ever crack a intake grate?

I personally have never broken or heard of one broken. Not saying it couldnt but its pretty well protected by the pump tunnel and chines. Ride plates and steering nozles break from landing hard on the rear of the ski or shallow water bottoming out

I am looking for plate recommendations.
Currently on the stainless Blowsion Grate with D-cut stock plate. 700 with B-pipe, Head, Reeds. The ski is now unpredictable in a turn on the stock D-cut plate. And my shins are sore from the edges. Thinking about the Jet Dynamics plate or the Blowsion Composite plate.

just purchased JD#60 intake grate. i love the aggressiveness compared to my WORX-201. however, the craftsmanship is horrible made of cheap cast aluminum. and the casting isn't 100 percent true. i took a file and dremel to it for an hour and smoothed out all of the left over shlage from cast mold. then got it zinc/powdercoated because it comes with NO anodizing at all lol. and now i absolutely love it. stays hooked at all times even in slop/chop/whitewater and landings... only downside is when you let go of throttle its becomes like a E-brake lol...

someone needs to copy this design into a better made product. because the last thing you want to do after spending over a hundred dollars on something BRAND NEW is have to rework it..

Performance sounds the same as my Blowsion grate. It hooks in just about anything. Top end does suffer compared to a stock grate. It is actually faster in rough stuff than on glass.
I know what you mean about the E-brake feeling. It helps in buoy racing and making sharper turns.
