NJ Law hour after sunrise, and hour before sunset...
They will ticket you.

I think any PWC not allowed to run lights..
have to check on that.

On full moon nights, years ago we used to do night missions...
Was fun as hell. whipping past peoples houses at like 10-11.
and most people that were out side, where like what the hell
was that...

Not the most responsible thing, and last time i did that was a good
5-6 years ago..

Was fun though !

SubSea, you sport an SKS on your outings? Thats pretty hardcore :shooter3:

Recreational target practice.
When I reloaded the ski that morning in the daylight I was scared to ride it back to the landing, wish I'd had a camera with me.

Bottom line:

Riding at night is dangerous

you can put lights on a PWC and run it at night. It is classified as a boat.

You better read up and find where they have to be if you don't know.

It is illegal to ride a PWC after dark in the State of Florida.

I think you should brush up on your local laws before advising people incorrectly.

Personal watercraft may never be operated from ½ hour after sunset to ½ hour before sunrise, even if navigation lights are used. Remember, both federal and state law requires the use of navigation lights from sunset to sunrise

I was told by a Fish and Game Officer that it was ok.... If I was gonna do it, i would look into the laws, just like any other person would do....

btw - I am not advising anyone of anything, I was simply passing on what I heard and.... I'll type whatever the f*ck I want on this forum... It's your job to parse through it and get the facts. Understand the concept of forums now, idiot???

Settle down, just cause a FWC Officer is un-informed, does not mean you have to be.

Besides, I'm calling :bsflag:that any FWC Officer in the state of Florida would advise anyone that something as basic as using a PWC after dark is legal.

Of course you are able to 'Type whatever the F*ck' you want, but that does not make the statement any less ignorant nor does it help the original poster in his quest to find out if riding at night is legal.

So, I have taken your advise, parsed through all the BS of your posts, and this Idiot will now go and pick up some parts.

Flame away.

we need a private lake to ride on at night.

Velocity, join one of those lakes in Bella Vista and ride there at night.

Im sure you could get away with it once or twice.

hahaha

Well it seems I started my first thread that turned into a drama thread. Isn't that some sort of right of passage on the x?:stooges:

sorry, that tool started his holier than thou crap w/ me... i can't resist that.

He's probably mad cause his boyfriend is getting worked on this site lately...
he he he... good times!!!

Better check your state laws. I thought the same thing until I saw that there was an extra section in AR boating laws specifically for PWC's and it clearly states that you have to be off the water a half hour after sunset.

but does it state ANYTHING specifically about running lights? or is it not mentined in the boating/conservation manual?

At the SFF last year, I had to get across the lake at midnight to get back to my camp.

I shot across the water at about 11:45 and, although painfully illegal, I hate to say it was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! Flat water, a chill in the air, pitch black, dammit it was great.

I wouldn't recommend doing it but I really enjoyed my trip.

I have done it ONCE myself as well.......I feel the same, not smart but damn it was fun! espeically since I knew the body of water like the back of my hand

In Ohio, you have to be off the water before the sun hits the horizon. Lights or no lights, pwc are illegal at night.

in the ohio conservation manual does it state anything about lights?

I havent read the michigan manual in 3-4 years, but I dont remember seeing anything in it about lights or not

Im guessing that some states specifially mention it (as in what Rickster posted) and some others do not

seems if nothing is mentioned its probably 'ok' or a loophole.....if it specifically states no PWC w/wout lights well then there you have it..

In AR it says specifically No pwc's a half hour after sunset. No clause to make it ok if you have lights.

No pwc's at all allowed on the BV lakes if I remember right. We used to have a lot of fun backflipping BMX bikes into the lakes there off of a portable ramp we would put on the dock though. They never could figure out what to write us a ticket for since we had a person with a POA card.

I rode at night in 1990 in Mexico at Esterro Beach south of Ensenada naked on acid when I was 19. What a trip that was-

Dunno about other states but in Missouri I believe you can ride a pwc at night as long as it has the right lights.
You would be correct, and that is the first state I have seen where it is legal.
Also, it is strongly recommended that PWCs are operated only during daylight hours. If a PWC is operated at night, the PWC must display the required navigation lights.
