Riding in socks

My feet are getting blisters from my wrestling shoes, I have tried Asics and Adidas. I like my shoes but need a little more protection. Anyone have any luck wearing socks while riding?
It's in the spots I keep pushed against my tray or foothold after an hour or two of riding.

Jet Tribe sells socks for their pwc racing boots that will do the job for you. I always wear them when i ride. The other benefit is my legs dont get rubbed raw from the hydroturf in my footholds..(the socks are kinda tall, which is ok by me)

Socks for sure. I couldn't stand the sand getting in and grinding my feet. I used just some thin neoprene ones from amazon for a few years until they got holes in them. Now I have a good pair of 2mm socks that make my Asics a tighter squeeze, but the warmth is great.

Have you tried regular all purpose athletic cross trainers like what Nike makes? 2mm neoprene socks make every shoe feel better compared to bare feet but I dont understand why wrestling shoes are so popular? I tried them and hated them. Wrestling is like the opposite of what you do in a tray?

Also 2mm neoprene or not I've never needed to go up in size to accommodate wetsuit socks

I had to wear compression socks all the way up my legs after my hip replacement. Those things were hell to get on lol
Yeah when they're wet they can be a muther. I use them with my NRS workboot wetshoe , it has a built in neoprene liner that is great for keeping out pebbles (river riding) but are impossible to get on wet skin. Once they're on though, impervious to everything.

Agree on the wrestling shoes. They are the second most over rated product in the jet ski world...5200 being the first.

People who dislike wrestling shoes are flat footed. Change my mind. If you come from the skateboard or BMX world you want a shoe that lets you feel what you're on, like Vans.

I've been wearing Asic Wrestling shoes, on my second pair in 5 years. I had 2mm socks, great for summer, but I prefer the 5mm socks. Much more cushion all around. They are not as warm as my 6mm diving boots though.

I'm not flat footed. My problem with wrestling shoes is that the grip sucks on them compared to shoes that are actually made for water use. I tried wrestling shoes back in the day based on everyone saying how great they were, but I might as well have been standing on wax paper. An $8 pair of water shoes from the dollar store have better grip.

Lol well I am definitely not flat footed and rode bmx pretty much every day for about 6 years....in all sorts of shoes. Hated vans (they'd wear out in a week of practicing a scuffing trick.

I could care less about changing your mind about something you just made up

I have been racing since 1999. Except for 1 race, I have always worn Slippery or Jet Pilot Boots........ It is what I prefer to ride in. I did try wrestling shoes, Did not care for them. They have less support and are less comfortable. The Slippery/Jet Pilots have much more support IMHO...... Oh, I am not flat footed either.
