It depends what hull your on and flatwater, surf, boat chaser?

I chase boats and ride surf. So there’s only 1-2 times I’ll ever be in back footholds and that’s to flip/roll boat wake or tiny shore break surf. ( no I’m not afraid to hit sand bar )

97% of the time in surf stance for flipping bigger waves and optimal control of the ski and not bouncing around looking like a dork on a pogo stick.

Full on comp flatwater skis have no choice but both feet out back.
So what you’re saying is 97% of the time you pee sitting down..?

Guys that say both feet back is the only way have never ridden surf or at least good surf. Re-entries look silly with both feet in the rear holds. There's an old thread on here with a guy trying a re-entry with both feet back and it looked super goofy I wish I could find it. You'll never get sideways like this with both feet back. That's why it's called "surf stance" cause it feels completely natural to do so in the waves.

Dumper style is good for going to the bathroom mid seassion. Blowsion sells a throttle lock for 799.99 that keeps rpm below 800 so you clean lean off the back and let the pump clean you up.
