It is heated most of the length.
Inside the hull there's residual motor heat and in the pole, it runs right next to the hot-hands line.
The top four inches give me trouble.

best would be to heat your bars in some way, that way you would have warm hands too...

water would be too much work running a line up the pole and having to small pissers on the outside of each handle...hahahah this is funny, but how about electrical heat ?

I already have hot water running up the pole. That's pretty easy to do.
The line is teed at the steering plate and two short hoses dump hot water on my hands.

It's funny when you look at alot of the northwest ski's most of them have heated bar's :notworthy:
I drilled four small holes through the front of the Rufian grip's here on my x-2 it work's excellent and of course you can adjust it with the valve mounted on the bar's. I am doing the same on the RN I am building.

Hey, you gotta beat boredom somehow.
I need to come up with something to keep the throttle cable from freezing up.
Maybe some oil/grease down the sleeve.

extend your motor water outlet to a long tube that wraps around the throttle cable near where it gets frozen. Kind of like people who lengthen and wrap their washer fluid tube around the radiator tube so that you get heated washer fluid.

I'm trying to click your pics to make them big but they're not getting bigger, wtf? I want to see what ya did.

Nice work guys! Yeah we northerners gotta have the heated grips. We've got enough ice here I don't dare try it. Always paranoid about invisible ice edges to hit.

Wow! That is some severe weather riding.

I don't think I could do that, unless I was really, really bored. Or motivated. lol

Awesome though, thanks for sharing. Those are some incredible pictures.

I like the frozen Santa hat. Lol!

If it were unbearable, we wouldn't do it.
The right gear makes it not just bearable, but fun.

We used to go whitewater kayaking in the winter. We don't get a lot of snow here, but it does get cold. Matt's right. If you wear the right gear you'll stay warm. I wore a 6mm farmer john wetsuit with a dry top and neoprene hoodie. You could see steam coming off our heads when we stopped to rest. I always took a gallon of warm water, and pre-filled my wetsuit. I guess you could say that's cheating :veryhappy:
