riding with motocross boots?!

I saw a video of Malone and some others doing a show (WFWA). I noticed they were wearing motocross boots. What is the reason for this? Has anyone else done this? During the show they were hitting a ramp, maybe they were using them to protect their shins or ankles. It must tear of the turf pretty good and how would they fit into the footholds. It just seemed interesting to me so I figured I'd ask.

well that makes sense. I want to get some knee braces and ankle braces for when the surf is really big and i don't want to ruin myself. My insurance will run out in one year and i can't afford it for a while after that with my transiant lifestyle. Hitting that ramp must hurt.

Couch rider? you still in daytona?

Only reason I could see anyone do that is either as a gimmick or for alot of ankle support.

Moto Boots weigh a freaking TON and dont lend themselves well to transmitting any feedback from the machine. Hey are designed not to flex in any way shap or form. I couldnt imagine trying to ride a ski with them.

As for tearing up the turf... Shouldn't do much. The soles are flat. I'd be more concerned about lack of traction when the turf gets wet. I dont even like walking in mine when it gets wet out. It's like walking on ice.

nah, i pulled out about an hour after you guys did monday morning

EVS makes good stuff. but for knee braces I'd get something closer to what I run.. You saw my Astrisks at port sheldon, right?

i used a CTI when i first started racing because my knees were jacked at the time... they still are but i don't race nearly has much.... i am looking for a decent ankle brace that gives support....

the only problem is i have EEEE wide foot and finding something that fits the bear paw is kinda tough
