Rippenkroeger Barrel Roll

Ya this is a Killer fun trick. a controlled wipe out as I like to put it. fun to land funneir than hell to watch people attempt for the first time. I like to do this on my 550 you really have to commit.

I got the Larry Rippenkroeger video and watched him do a barrel roll on a 550. OK, it's not what I was thinking, but it is still pretty slick anyhow.

I get on my knees in the tray and grab the left rail with my left hand, right hand on throttle. I get the SJ up on plane. I turn slightly to the right and then hard to the left to break the back of the ski free. The SJ slides sideways, tuck your head down to the right and when the right rail catches water around she goes around in a barrel roll. Get back on throttle once the ski is 3/4 of the way around and ride away.

I've come pretty close to pulling the logroll, but keep getting thrown off. just need more time. I think I'll get some gloves soon too :biggthumpup:

Got some gloves, lightened my hull, got quick steer...

I'm going to give it another shot when I hit the water next week! :bananalama:

Flying Log Roll

It's also possible to do a shallow 180 nosestab and tuck into a logroll, used to do them every now and then, kinda hard on the pole though.....anyone remember that "classic" trick?

I used to do that at the end of my routine once in ahwile too... People are like WTF?!?! :biggrin:

I tried the log roll today after a couple hours of beating myself up practicing other stuff...

The rolls start ok, but I kept falling out of the tray when I was upside down, so when it righted, it was just kinda dragging me out of the water behind it. Do you guys lock in to the footholds or ???

looks like u'd wanna make sure ur intake grate is still there, i thought my foot almost got sucked up under there once by accident.. let alone ya face wid this undertaker!
