Riva red water routing

Beating a dead rotten horse here... But the Riva instructions are different from what many people discuss here. Setup for single cooling

From Riva instruction printout 1995:

1) pump -> mani

2) rear head -> top of chamber

3) Front head (1/8" line) -> capped

4) bottom of chamber -> stinger

There is no mention of restrictions or bypass to pissers. Based on the half dozen threads I've rifled through the above seems correct with the following exceptions:

3) front head (1/8" line) -> pisser

4) bottom of chamber -> stinger & pisser with a 2mm restrictor in the line going to the stinger.

Can someone chime in and confirm? is the restrictor to stinger necessary or can I just run 3/8 line everywhere? Hoping to nail this install first go!

You don’t necessarily need a restricter to your Stinger but I’d highly recommend investing in a adjustable flow control valve. It will help BIG time in tuning your pipe. I ran a riva red years ago, I will dig around for pics to see my routing.

This is what I came up with. Please confirm. Only thing I'm uncertain of assuming my routing is correct is restriction to stinger. I contacted riva and they said they were sold with 3/8" fittings for all water routing and basically it was up to me to figure out restriction. Beyond that they recommended leaving 3/8 and put in a flow control to restrict water at idle.

I had a 1/4" fitting laying around which with a 5/16" hose I can stretch it over both my 3/8 tee and 1/4 fitting nicely. I think I'll give that a go. Seems people are going down much less than 1/4" but 1/4" is still quite a bit less than 3/8" as far as i'm concerned.

Thoughts?

That looks right, I would get yourself some inline adjustable Fittings, they’re basically just strait thru fittings with a bolt that threads down into it to adjust flow. I would put one between head to pisser. Then a FCV between Y and stinger to help dry out waterbox at idle and the other adjustable between Y fitting and pisser. This will make dialing the pipe in on the fly wayyyy easier and you don’t need any other size fittings!! Use 3/8” for everything keep it real simple! Good luck man!
