I thought people would have learnt from my raping by WDK, you are at least in the same country, easier to go knock on their door.

You chose to take apart an already built motor and try to modify it further... :twak:

At least you actually received a product. :banghead:

thank £$%! for credit card fraud protection eh,got my money back!allthough i would have prefered the goods, shame he does not sell the rights for somebody else to mass produce these motors etc and take a cut!sure the demand would be high!!!!bit like those new 800 couch's from the far east on flea bay u.k,check the motor spec......sound familiar.....784cc,120 hp,@49L/hr.....:Flush:

So The ENVY is a "short" SXR Hull?? how much shorter??

Hate to ask but after reading some of this thread is the ENVY hull better suited for SURF or will it be good both on/off surf??

Also - just wondering way they choose gelcoat or other finishing. isn't the gel really heavy??

Sorry for not responding, I have not checked this thread in a while. The envy will be great for both flatwater and surf. The improved handling of the SXR bottom deck will help it be more responsive and promote a more positive feel all around. Increased stability will be noticed everywhere. It ride nothing like a SXR. I ahve not been on a ENVY (or even seen an ENVY) in person, but I did ride the EME which is essentially the same bottom deck.

I went with just a plain gel coat finish b/c I just wanted a durable long lasting hull. If I was doing carbon I would probably just have it bare with a couple layers of clear for UV protection and a better appearence.

No word on the hull yet. I was supposed to ship months ago and it is always the same story......."oh, I just have to finish clearencing the hood". he sent me pics a while ago but I think it was probably just of a ENVY hull and he sold it to someone else. I have been told by others that that happened when he built my x-jet as well.

how did ramjet get his before you or was he on the list first?

I am not sure. Mine was "suposidly" laid up back when Skywalker's was done. But after all this time Jeff told me that he no longer is going to do wet laid up boats. He is just focusing on prepreg carbon fiber boats. He would not send me the hull although it is in his shop b/c he does not want wetlaid boats out there anymore. He did offer me a full prepreg carbon hull IF I take to time to fly out to Oregon and lay it up myself. But I don't want to do that. We just settled on parts he owes me and he is writing me a check.

For the record I never demanded a new hull from him. My X-jet did not meet the specs I sent him. I got a prepreg topdeck and wet laid bottom that was supposed to be a 75lb hull w/o hood or bracket. It ended up weighting 90lbs w/o hood or bracket........the same as a wetlaid x-jet hull. But the prepreg was an additional $2300 so I was like WTF!! The hood was supposed to be 6lbs and prepreg. He did not have a prepreg mold for the x-jet hood but said he could do a wetlaid bagged hood that weighed in at around 8lbs. The hood ended up weighing 13.3lbs. So I paid prepreg price for the regular wetlaid hood. He told me to go ahead a run with that hull for the year and he will make anouther for me........he offered to do a x-jet or envy. I opted for the envy but had to wait for it to be developed (2 years later). I was achually 1st or 2nd on the list of hulls to be built but one never achually made its way to me. According to our conversations it was crated several times, hood had to be adjusted and that took a few months ect. I even got about 5 pics sent to me on my cell phone showing me the hull (abt 3 months ago)

All that said I am going to work on chopping the bottom deck off the x-jet after daytona. Talked to Bobby from trinity and I might see if his new sj based/style bottom deck will mate up to the x-jet (based off a rn superjet). If that does not work I have a squarenose bottom I can use. I also know of anouther builder that can make me a carbon fiber bottom at a later date. I have not seen his stuff in person but hear good things thus far.

I have no objection to Jeff or Waterdawgs if he makes right and settles this deal. I think the x-jet is the ultimate superjet style hull out there and the ENVY is going to be quite the performer. "IF" you can get your hands on it.

i sent him the new kawi sxr bottom to make the mold, i traded the kawi bottom for a envy bottom and bought the top deck. Technically that should have put me first in line, however a year passed along with several other
going out first. I think who ever raises the most stink gets their hull first. Sorry it worked out bad for you hunter, I'm sure he will eventually make good on this but youre going to have to keep on him.

I'm cool as long as we settle. I will take that $$ to buy a bottom deck and rebuild the hull back to where it should be. I never liked how it handled anyway.

NVM just read above but why not contact GOOSE (bill smith) here on the boards he is really good with his hulls and will set you up for the right price

im sure the weights you want he will come within good range of
ive heard of being as low as 50lbs top n bottom
he's also making carbon hoods and such
give him a chance...im sure he'll come in better than WDK did
