RN superjet nose piece cover and refoam question

Hello all, I’m fairly new here to the forum, I’m in the middle of a big overhaul on a ski I picked up last season, took all turf off, about to do a defoam and just have a few questions I’d like answered regarding this stuff. So let me start out here and say I definitely need to defoam the ski and I’ve read a million write ups and everything but upon putting the tray back in after getting new foam in what is the main support for it? Is it the foam that supports it and you glass around where you cut or do you do a full sheet of glass the size of the tray to hold it in? Just confused about that and how many layers is enough? A little help there that’s all I’m confused about so any help would be great and Also about the nose piece the previous owner broke it off and so he put resin over all the holes to fill them in and I am just looking for a basic explanation or pics of how it mounts so I have an understanding. Anything is appreciated. Also I’m interested in buying the stock nose piece if anyone has one for sale let me know I’m interested. Thankyou to all! I have a pic attached reguarding the nose piece I’m talking about.

You need the nosepiece and the bracket (#34 in your photo) along with all related hardware. Cut the tray out in one piece, glass the seam back up with a couple of light layers (8-10oz) then glass over the whole tray with a couple of layers, use epoxy resin.

Should the tray and sides all be one piece or the sides separate from the main tray? And also for the nose piece is there 2 holes on bottom middle and 2 on the sides? Thanks for the reply

It will be easier to reinstall if you take the thay out as one piece if possible.

The nose piece has tabs in the front that slide under the bracket on the hull, there are 2 screws at the back that secure it on.

Great Thankyou I will and should be able to take it out as one piece. Thankyou for the reply and okay I understand what you mean for the nose piece now. Appreciate the response and will post more if I have anymore questions Thankyou!

The more I look at write ups and pics the more I’m getting confused lol sorry for my noobness. So it would be easiest to have the sides and tray cut out as 1 big piece or 1 piece meaning the bottom portion of the tray as one piece? Just trying to really simplify it

Or you can just butcher the crap out of it like someone did to mine

Oh man that looks brutal lol that’s what I’m trying to avoid lol but Thankyou for the info and I’m hoping to start that next week. Hopefully it will go smooth. I’m thinking about not cutting out the sides since I already have footholds and stuff so I was thinking maybe just cutting the center where I stand and that will make it nice and easy to glass back in
