After getting out of stand-ups for almost two years it was absolutely killing me not to go riding with the 615 crew and just not riding in general. Finally Sold off a bunch of projects and my built 96' XP because I had way too many toys. I reached out to toby and put an add on here for a modified SJ RN and this thing kindof fell into my lap from another member. Why I'm calling this "RN v2.0" is because this is my second roundnose but i never got to ride the first one at all. This is a great clean ski with good parts so i'm just really doing some mods here and there to make it mine and more suited for what I like to do, and fix a few things.
Specs- really clean 2003 yamaha superjet RN
- Ported 62t/62t (top end motor)
- 46mm Blackjack
- couch mounts
- Jet maniac head with 35cc domes
- Factory b-pipe with limited chamber
- h-20 waterbox
- bilge pump
- Different paint
- Jet trim turf
- Carbon fiber ride plate
- Intake grate
- Impeller
- Jet ski solutions battery/plug wires
- Blowsion handle pole spring
- other misc odds and ends
Took it out the first weekend both saturday and sunday and ended up flooding the motor the 2nd day and killing the battery because of a bad hood seal or not putting on gas cap the whole way. Really my fault but the ski ran killer before I messed it up, haven't had a modded SJ yet so it was fun. I did however really start to dislike the stock pole being around 6ft tall. Called toby and took the ski to him where he shortened the stock pole -4.25, and Jet maniac hooked me up with a new hood seal and throttle cable. Bought a really nice sealed AGM battery Went on the river yesterday and jumped the local tour boats wake, the shortened pole took some getting use to but I love it now and the new seal is perfect.
Some pics when I got it
Buffed the paint a little bit, it's in good shape but there was some light blemishes. Nothing that can't be fixed, plan on finishing it this week and with a two step polish then seal the paint.
And the shortened pole (thanks toby)
My plans for the ski include
- ride it
- Little more buffing
- toby's footholds and turf
- Maybe Jet maniac top end kit for more punch and dual 38's this winter
