Rocker/Chop advice/build. gen 3

In the process of installing a rocker and chop on my blaster. I've skimmed threw all the blaster threads. When it comes to installing the new panels what do most do over lap them and glass the inside then grind the transition? Or fit them to have a butt joint? From what I'm seeing is most overlap the joints and use screws to hold it in place while the inside is glassed then grind, putty and sand.

Next I will be covering the whole inside of the rear in 4 layers of 1208.

Looks good I would overlap onto the original hull on the inside a couple more inches if I were you. The more surface you can grab the better.

Scallop & glass the outside or it will crack your paint work and eventually fail - Seen a few do that.

I was planning to do a single layer of 6oz sheet on the outside.

1 layer of 6 oz wont be enough after you sand it. i would do no less than 4-5 layers of 6oz to take into account you will sand 1-2 layers back off when you are smoothing it out.

Four layers of 1208. Also going to tie the transom into the top deck with a layer or two....

So the front templet for cutting has 82.5" written on it. Does any one know what that dimension is measured from?
