Rockered nose lake skis

I love the build threads involving reshaping /remaking a hull.

But, why do people who live nowhere near the ocean do the rockered nose? Maybe it helps to ride down a steeper wave without pearling, but why for lake riding? It's alot of extra work for little return it seems.

I Rockered my SN thinking it would give it more pop off a setup wake without subbing.
When (if I ever) finish it I will let you know if it works.
I will say it is a lot more work than it looks like. With the hours I have in to this ski I would have been better off buying a hull.

Maybe they drive to ride surf on occasion.
I like the creative builds too. Seeing all the new aftermarket hulls go together was cool for a few years but it's all been done. Learning what and how to modify my fx1 is what brought me to this forum in the first place. Most a/m hulls, surf or flat, are rockered so why not? It's just time and cheap materials. And it's winter.

I did mine because when I was cutting the SN all apart to shorten it, widen tray, lower hood, reforce, which are all mods for both flat and surf why not do the nose while you are at it? Plus you have the added benefit of moving the handle pole bracket forward.

It just makes the heavy superjet even heavier. Maybe if you ride surf all the time, but mostly useless for lake riding.

I ride mostly lakes. It was a ton of work but I like customizing things. It’s really not that beneficial on the lake, but I’ve vowed to FW flip this hull just because and it will help with that. Plus I think it just looks cool..

I cringe whenever I see a carter b rocker kit on anything. It’s ugly, it’s useless, and a waste of a hull. (For lake riding) It’s wishful thinking because they saw that one guy flip that one superjet on YouTube.

Rocker nose deletes the bumper, so now you get splashed in the eyes when your lake riding, fun.

Buy a a/m hull before you cut up a superjet. Get a beat up used a/m hull, if your looking for a project and trying to save money.

Cut up a superjet before you buy an a/m hull. It doesn’t add weight, that makes no sense unless you use 20lbs of epoxy. FW flipping a -4” rear and -3” front superjet with the right motor is hardly impossible..

@Chase Musetti let's see the video of you flatwater flipping your cut up superjet.

By the time you reinforce the whole hull, plus rocker etc, your end up with 100lbs+ hull, same as stock or more, you don't save weight built right. Did you weigh your hull when you were done?

All the time and energy isn't worth it for flatwater, that is what the OP is about. If you ride surf, sure.
