Custom/Hybrid rockered sj hull build

hi all not sure if this is in the right place but thought I might share this with you
after reading about the rocker that carter was making for the sj I thought I would get myself another hull and fit one to try out
was a bit late to deal with carter but was glad to hear he sold the mould to Bradley (byeai)
well I ordered the kit and within a few days it landed on the door mat

rocker 0.5.jpg

so with the hull sitting there ready it was time to get the grinder out

the kit comes with all the measurements etc to do your cuts which made this so easy

so with a quick run over with the grinder it was ready for a dry fit

with the rocker kit sitting happy in place and a few rivots to hold it there a thin layer of glass was layed around it

this was also a good time to get rid of the exterior fuel filler

and quick sand down and a layer of filler and the outside is just about ready to go

with the nose being so easy to do I felt I needed more of a challenge so the grinder came out again

the plan is to move the footholds forward by 5"
when I brought this hull the back of the hull had already been shortened
and after seeing it on the water it rides quite nose up,so im thinking that moving the footholds forward to match the chopped hull it should help this

im also going to widen the tray
im doing this by fixing the outside of the tray walls onto the edge of the bond rail

these are just glass in place for the moment but will be heavy layed up with some carbon Kevlar on the inside

just thought I would dig this thread up that I started as I thought you might like to see how it turned out

the rocker got fitted and the footholds got moved forward 5" to match the hull being chopped at the back
the footholds were also made a bit wider

Cheers
It's really nice to ride it pops off the wake real nice with the rocker and with the back chopped it just leaves the water so easily and wants to roll etc

Looking forward now to getting my grinder out and starting another one now
