Got the front foothold glassed in last night.Mock up on ebox looks good.Using a CF ebox bracket to mount ebox.l used the same setup on my freak.Keeps ya from ripping in to the turf on the front of the tray when the box needs to come out.

I need to spend the weekend working on the freak and make some progress with it.Ahh fresh paint to scar up.

No need to rip into the turf, my freak ebox mounts straight to the tray with some rubber spacers between for vibration. The bolt heads are flush to the turf, ez as pie to pull the ebox out if needed, the spacers retain the bolts when its out.

Also got some things done to the Rocket! My mod to the front foothold worked (whew!) allowing the CF bracket to fit and the ebox has just enough clearence to fit.l also changed the angle of the bottom of the xmetal w/box by cutting off 1.50" the side facing the bow and sloping it back to the other side (did not cut). When l first put it in the ski,l noticed that it leaned way in towards the gas tank and was rubbing on it.l don't know how the rest of you guys did yours or how you made it work. But it sits straight up now.The word on the street was that the xmetal pole and bracket would "not" work.Well BS! You make it work.l cut about 1/8+ off each side and turned the pole bolts inwards.Works now.

There are certain parts l like to use on builds and if you went back and looked at my freak build from last year, you will see similarities on both skis.l like using Cold Fusion and Xmetal products because of their consistent qualities. So l will try to use them each time l do a build.

Thanks to both Carl at CF and Pat,Chuck and the guys at Xmetal. Appreciate you all.

l've been going back and forth between the freak and rocket. The rocket got some more love, cause l forgot a new steering cable, pole bolt and mid shaft coupler for the freak. How do you forget a pole bolt? lol But JetManiac came thru for me.lf the bolt had got here today,l could have got pole done,so back to the rocket.

Pic of the pole almost completed and the ebox installed.Does anyone know why l can have a pic in my photos (iPad) and be upright but the when l post it goes side ways? l am using a iPhone 4 to take the picture.

l'll post the pics up in a bit, having a problem

Yes it is the standard length xmetal.Let me try to post up some pics.Still sideways sorry! After cutting off the sides on the bracket, the rest was easy. The pole fits well on the ski.
The other two pics are of the ebox, one showing the final fit and one showing the clearance that obtained.

don if you would post some pixs of the pinch bolts on the pole.

THANKS TOBY

Sorry Toby,l haven't looked at this thread for a while! Look at post #26 3rd pic.

Also, here are some pics on the build. This is my xscream "mighty 735 pv" I've had for a few years now.Very reliable power plant. Not for you big ballers! lol

The install went well and l did a few things different than others. I'm happy that my ebox mod worked out well.As you can see in the 3rd pic it opened up the area behind the engine for better access.l have since changed the exhaust path from w/box to outlet on the bulkhead.created a lot of problems arcing down.lt pressed against the gas tank and the batt,so l ran it straight with a 90 down and then 90 straight back to the exhaust tube exit. Also me cutting the w/box into a deeper angle to make it set up straight finally worked well.

Over all the build was not difficult. As with all a/m hulls sometimes you have to be creative! And please,no one freak out and spew a/m BS about how hulls should be "perfect" from a small company.Your gonna hve issues pop up and you have to deal with them.

The Krash Foot Rocket is a well built hull.l would not hesitate in buying another.

Once again,we went sideways on the pics.l googled it and apparently it was the way l took them.Maybe someone on here can flip them for me!

Anyway it was a little challenge to turf and pad this one.The pad on the bottom is 25mm (cause that's what "l" like,ok) and was amazed how much the pump cavity came up into the tray.Yea,the 25 mil was even with it! And l mixed solid and marbled purple for this build.Been wanting to do purple for a while! The footholds were a real pita! After doing them twice,l got ahold of the turf guru (Butti) and he had some great suggestions on how to.They still have some problems,l just don't give a crap after doing them 3 times....

l elected to just buy the gel coat finish which overall is not too bad.l have heard that Nick is not letting them sell anymore like this, because of some small imperfections.Plan on this winter painting it.

The ski is great to ride! Flickable, but stable and fun on the lake.Does not feel like the weight of fiberglass.l bought it with the surf reinforcement.l took it to the Carolina freeride and had a great time in the surf.Just want to get it in better waves and conditions. But it handled the wash and chop pretty dam good.l did not feel uncomfortable at all.l will say that coming off my freak that forgives and forgets when you mess up,the rocket says to ya "no,you are gonna have to work" to stay up on me.But l don't see that as a problem, just different.

Bring it on down to test in better surf! What are you waiting for?
