I bought the ski not knowing if it ran (I knew it would crank.) I sold my 650sx for WHAT I THINK is a 650 superjet, but after riding that ski last night I'm doubting that its a 650 :/ . I relaize that it would say 701 on the motor if it was, pretty sure it is a 650 but wow. Did they run that much better then 750 kawi's? This thing just put my friends 750 kawi to shame. I rode that kawi for 20 minutes last weekend, last night i rode for 5 minutes and was wore out. i tried for a second time and lasted maybe another 5 minutes.

Ski gets tore down this weekend probably for paint next week. Any pointers for tearing down? I'm kinda nervous about doing it because there is always that chance it gets tore down and never gets put back together! Tips for keeping everything organized?

yamahas kick @ss
take lots of digital pix as you disassemble
use ziplocks for hardware and label each bag to ease reassembly

I was 1000% happy with it. i paid 700$ for it haha. Handled unlike any ski I have ever been on. It still hooked on the sharpest turn i could handle with my bad ballance on that thing being the first time on it. for color i was thinking a metalic silver or a charchol grey.

It must be a 701, unless it has a ton of mods, or your friend's 750 is tuned horribly. My 650 SN stock couldn't even come close to my stock Kawi 750. The 750 absolutely walked all over the SN.

Glad it worked out for ya’ and the motor runs… I don’t know, my 90 650 with a Solas concord 13/17 had way better snap than my 94 701 with a solas 14/17(YB-SC-S) or a stock waveblaster 15/18. the right prop can make a huge difference.

Thats what im thinking it is. When I tear it down to get painted i get to find out what prop is on it. Because I have no idea what it is. But it is for sure new and shiney. Do you have any pictures of your 90 650?

just remembered the 90 was my spare parts ski. 91sj background, 94sj (just sold it). plenty more pictures on my home computer i can send via pm.

Yeah I'm missing the front rubber piece and i need to buy a new front nose piece. I have not been able to even locate a single front rubber piece. and as for the front cover piece i was going to buy a new one becuse i know it will stay on but it just the decision between if i want the gas on the outside of the ski or inside.

Make one out of Hydro-Turf and you can do your rails to match.

Yeah I thought about that last night. I haven't decided if i'm going to turf myself or have it taken to a professional. I pieced everything in just to see how it would look and all it did was scare me about doing it myself.
