Disclaimer: NOT wanting or trying to start yet another WDK out of control thread here.

That said, have others noticed that the rok-r is a new hull with not many produced so far, but seeming quite a few for sale already.

Is WDK changing the hull?

Are people unhappy with performance?

Other?

i like mine so far with the underpowered 1200 in it. like i said in another thread, when it drops out of the sky, it lands like butter and thats important when you're big and old! i speak with waterdawg quite often and the word is, the rok-r top deck is changing. longer tray and shorter hood/dash. there's that short clip on youtube of that BIG dude doing a nice FW flip on it with a 61X motor. for a very short boat, it rides very nice with the long plate on it.

Did he tell you its now called the Backie Chan since he ruined his reputation and wants to keep making a living designing and selling hulls.... and needs to do it through another hull builder? Just curious...

Jeff ruined his reputation 10 years ago......none of this is new

subbing out to another composite guy is not his style either.....Jeff is a composite master and is likely probably THE smartest and most innovative person to ever lay hands on a ski

maniac Ill bet some of it has to do with the fact that alot of folks arent able to ride such a small hull....

Steve is not affiliated in any way except buying a top and bottom deck for a starting point for the backie chan. Pretty sure it was explained in the first couple pages of the backie chan thread. I haven't talked to Jeff in awhile, but I do remember a lot of people saying that the tray was too small, then again I haven't ridden on I've only seen them in person. Does seem like a lot of people are buying them used also, he'll that one was sold in two hours last night

the fiberglass side of his biz takes time away from the WDK side. everybody works to make money, not cause they want to. if he/we all make money, great. i wish everybody the best, but they are on their own. there are more important things than jetskis, but i cant think of a single one right now....................... i like the rok-R, backie chan, superfreak, rickter, and all the rest. i think everybody should have at least one of each. good luck to all

Yeah I figured I might just start making hulls myself. Pretty easy seems like every monkey is making hulls now.

Mine will be 11 lbs, you can drop it out of the sky with zero damage. It will double as a Diamond tip drill bit for drilling oil wells.
This hull will change the world of freeriding. You can also get the larger prop mods to make it an airplane so you can fly to freerides.
It will not be a copy of any other hull and it will Always give you a happy ending.

As for the Rok-r it seems the real important part is the long rideplate.

I think Jeff should build a stubby/rockered REV hull since the Rok(R) got copied so quickly.
It does seem the market is flooded with hull builders (and "hull builders"), wonder how long till that bubble pops.

the rokR has not been copied. the sxr/rok has been highly modified and produced as the backie chan. jeff said he once tossed around the idea of a hull similar to the BC ,but didnt do it. he knew steve was going to produce a version of his hull and didnt mind, knowing there is an a$$ for every seat. no single MFG can supply all.

Did you guys know that this forum actually has a written rule stating that any thread mentioning WDK in the OP must derail on the first page or it will be deleted? Now you know.

PS: It's in hidden text on the Site Rule page.

615 Freeriders are addicted to T1 madness.
I saw very little resemblnce in the functioning areas of a hull on the Backy-Chan to the ROK-R and the changes made over the Envy seemed like very wise choices (ROCKER AND LENGTH).
The ROK-R I have seen were typical WDK product, great fit and finish, but IMO it is SUPER PURPOSE BUILT like a BOB type hull. I cannot speak for the handling or the ride of them but I can certainly say its not for me. I will get a chance to ride one this spring but I dont see me needing one.
