Hey everyone I have a jon boat trailer that I use to haul my 2 650's. I see that there are no trailers allowed in the park rules and I can't leave it at the boat ramp without a truck attached. Any ideas? I have friends in Wilmington and could leave it in their yard, but that seems overly complicated.

If you look at the main discussion thread for the ride, I have secured passes for leaving unattached trailers at the ramp. Make sure you lock them up and lock them together if possible. And if you are leaving a trailer leave it at the very back of the ramp. Contact me when you arrive to get your pass.

Hey everyone I will be keeping tabs on the weather forecast and if there is still predicted heavy rain and wind Thursday through Saturday by tomorrow evening (over 60% chance) we are considering postponing this camping event till the following weekend the 8th-11th. Again no decision will be made until tomorrow as the forecast still has alot of uncertainty to it. There's just no sense in trying to camp on the point in high wind and rain and I don't want anyone to fork out money for a hotel as this is and always has been a camping freeride.

For anyone who already bought camping passes online all you have to do is call or email the town and they can change the date of the passes you bought to the following weekend. I will keep everyone posted!

I'm aware that the GA freeride is the following weekend and I apologize but I cannot predict the weather, we have been very fortunate to have awesome weather for the past few years.

ATTENTION EVERYONE!

I'm not going to hold off this announcement until tomorrow there's just too many factors pointing towards postponing the freeride till next weekend and I would rather go ahead and get the word out so those who can make it can plan accordingly! The freeride will now be postponed till the following weekend October 8th thru 11th! Please help me get the word out to everyone, tell your friends that are coming!

Every forecast i've been looking at throughout the day has gone from bad to worse. Their predicting over 6 inches of rain from Thursday to Saturday with 90% chance on thursday to 100% on friday and saturday with 15 to 20mph winds. This coupled with the fact that they are calling for coastal flooding again with hightened surf and erosion from the tropical storm offshore and higher than normal tides from the moon we may not even have a place to camp at all! The ocean will probably be a blown out washing machine as well.

The tropical storm looks to clear out the atmosphere for next weeks forecast and so far looks to be sunny and nice! And i'm sure any forecast is better than the one we are currently dealing with! I just can't see all of us standing out there trying to setup camp in the pouring rain with 15 to 20mph winds! Anyone that already purchased their access pass can get a full refund and then purchase one for the following weekend using the same exact promo code!

Call 1-866-330-7275 and tell them our event has been postponed till the next weekend due to inclement weather and that you need a refund.

Lol i didn't get the memo. Weather was so so but who could of predicted it was supposed to be crappy. Not much of a local riding crew here anymore.

So what kind of turn out are you expecting with the weather delay on the event? As long as my job works with me i'll be headed that way Thursday morning.

@Vortex I bet the surf was awesome because of the hurricane.

I'm going to post up a new roll call on the FB group page. I've given out the promo code to over 25 different groups of people and I've only had 3 or 4 tell me they couldn't go because of the postponement. I know most of the Virginia Beach crew is coming, some of the charlotte crew and raleigh area. And some from SC and OH.

Rode at masonboro inlet, clear skies and big swells, it was too risky to go past the channel buoys...probably 6-8 footers all stacked close together.

Then the next day at the lake we had 2-4 ft waves. So killer.

New Guys really sorry I posted this on Facebook yesterday but forgot to post it on the X

UPDATE: To anyone planning on coming down today I just got off the phone with the town manager and he has informed me that the Park will be reopened 100% for sure by 7:00AM on Friday. There's alot of debris from the storm they are still trying to clean up. The state park is open if you need a place to camp till tomorrow morning.
