RRP ninja footholds Vs. Hurricane Holds for Superjet

Sorry to start yet another foothold debate. This one is only putting two against each other for comparison so I hope it’ll help someone else like me.

I picked up a 2000 model superjet over the weekend and I want to get footholds in it before spring. Since i’ve done the freestyle gig i’ve become spoiled with adjustable footholds so I would like some in my SJ.

I would like to hear from someone who has done one of the kits (RRP ninja or hurricane ind.) to see what they think as far as installation and results go. I ride lake stuff 99% of the time but I would also like to hit the surf every now and then.

Would you guys go with the hurricane kit due to it widening the tray or is RRP the way to go even for recreational riding? When i’m not sending it off a wave I ride in surf stance with my back foot barely in the foothold at a slight angle. My only concern with the RRP kit is that I wouldn’t be able to do that at all.

Thank you guys!

I just installed an RRP ninja kit in my sj and the fitment wasn’t the best. Took some modification and I ended up cutting the pockets up and making my own larger ones so it’s more like the hurricane kit. I like the actual ninja foot holds better but the Hurricane pockets would be the way to go.

I've seen the Hurricane kit and its a nice bit of kit but in my honest opinion you can't beat Ninja footholds. Even the Tigercraft copy i have on my SV-1 are not as good.

I was the first to modify Rickter footholds into a superjet when the built in buckets did not exist , I also have had several versions of Hurricane/Bob footholds under my feet, as well as other types of footholds, WDK , etc.....

The process of footholds will be always a custom experience either way you will have to modify existing buckets, set ups , back brace, rear turf holds , angle, padding, under padding ,etc...

From My experience the Rickter footholds where unbeatable with my Super jet just for install and ride, these where not Ninja Foot holds yet,so I assume the ninjas should work even better , but on aftermarket hulls due to wider trays, sunken trays , modified Bob/Hurricane footholds appeared to be more accommodating, it had mainly to do with the stance angle in the different skis, foot angle and if u like kicking in like a mofo...

Either way I think they are both great footholds for your superjet, and yes both will require some custom work as nothing in this industry is "Plug n Play"

I modified my superjet with a wide tray ski clinic setup and dont really like the feel of the foot holds. I have recently ridden a rickter with ninja footholds and loved the feel of them, I will be purchasing a set soon to modify and run on my ski clinic setup. So my answer is a combo of both!

I have already become very accustomed to nothing working in an easy manner in this industry. Plug and play and jet skis don’t belong in the same sentence hahaha

I bought a superjet with BOB holds already installed and like my fixed footholds a lot more. Being able to adjust them sounds cool but really isn't very useful because the low settings make them too small for almost any adult to fit their feet in them. I wear indoor soccer shoes with 1" underpadding on the tray and 3/8" on top, and it's almost impossible to fit my feet in even at the largest setting. The paddles stick way too far into the tray and don't cradle the top of your foot very well, even if you contour them halfway through the paddle. I think that if they had more of a contour like the ninja holds they would fit your feet a lot better, but without that they don't feel very secure.
